Better at work is the goal we are aiming at. We understand this goal to include every mode of furnishing which provides our customers with the facility to improve their work. Whether this involves technical innovation, design, ergonomics or sustainability and product quality, we stand for excellent performance, whereby the competence of our staff and cost efficiency are as mandatory as the development of a comprehensive service culture regarding all matters concerning furnishings.
"Kinnarps' takeover of prestigious traditional German brands opens up for us huge chances on the German market." It is our objective to become a leading enterprise with on-site production, a wide product range, adapted to the German market, and a competent sales and marketing division. First-rate Acoustic Office Solutions A new office trend is gaining acceptance both on a worldwide scale and here too: optimum use of space by consolidation. Yet wherever there is an increase in the number of people present, there is a necessity to restrict the amount of noise. Kinnarps offers companies optimum space acoustic solutions. That also pays off in pure monetary terms. Many studies have shown that a reduction in the noise level leads to higher productivity. Acoustic design: good for the individual, good for work, good for business. You can not only read up on our know-how, but experience it live by visiting our unique acoustics competence centre in Worms.

Competence
"The optimisation of space and acoustics"
Acoustics
The internal processes of any modern enterprise are becoming increasingly fast due to optimisation and technical support. Communication thus becomes an increasingly important matter.
One solution is acoustically effective surfaces in combination with workplaces screened off from each other.
The advantage of communication is overshadowed by the adverse effect to concentration and attention due to noise disturbance. „Noise is the enemy of attentiveness“ Jan Nemecek (Büro - Lärm und seine Auswirkungen auf den Menschen, 1980)
Standard values at the workplace Mainly intellectual activities: 55dB (A). Simple, mechanical office activities: 70 dB (A). Stress threshold: >60 dB (A). .
Acoustic sound comparative values Town (daytime): 45-55 dB (A). Normal speech (1mtr dist.): 65-70 dB (A). Spa areas (daytime): 45 dB (A).
Acoustic countermeasures Direct interruption of sound transmission. Indirect reduction of sound transmission. Use of acoustically absorptive surfaces within the room. Setting up sound-reducing elements (acoustic fabric 'sails' carpets, paintwork). Using sound-adsorptive furnishings (acoustic office furniture, acoustic absorbers).
Acoustic ceiling elements
Acoustic partition walls
29
Total Quality Management Quality can be measured in terms of its material utility value. Or the execution of customer requirement specifications. Quality management at Kinnarps is however an ongoing process. It ranges from the initial idea to the despatch of the products. At the core of our demands on quality is the benefits for the customer. The important factors influencing these criteria are, for example, image, durability, cost-to-performance ratio, and economic efficiency and ecology. A consistent implementation of holistic quality management ensures a constant enhancement of the performance of the company and the staff.
30
Quality
Kinnarps can look back on a long tradition of sustainable and environmentally sound economic management. The company complies with all important European environment standards and, amongst others, was distinguished with the "Excellent Green Supplier of the Year Award" of the Swedish Environment Management Council in 2009 for its ecological awareness. Over and above this, Kinnarps cooperates intensively with international environmental organisations, as the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), and was supplier for furniture for the prestigious International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN) in Switzerland.
Environment and Sustainability
31
A Healthy Mixture Everything we do is aimed at creating efficient and inspiring workplaces, where the staff feel good and perform well. In producing this feeling of well-being, the ergonomic design from the individual's workplace to the entire scope of operations – an important role.
AGR certified products
entrada A successful combination of biotechnology, function and design.
ios With its unique, auto-adaptive backrest, eflex® – technology and reducing necessary adjustment control by the user.
cambio Combines a lucid language of shape with sophisticated functions based on ergonomic aspects.
salida Concentrated on what matters: ergonomic sequences of movements thanks to structured functionality.
"Many back complaints are preventable"
Aktion gesunder Rücken The AGR certification distinguishes only those products which have been proven by an independent testing committee of experts from the fields of medicine and science, for their ergonomic, back-friendly construction.
Active Pelvic Support Development and application for a patent for the active pelvic support by MARTINSTOLL on the basis of a synchro-torsionmechanism. Replacing the principle of a rigid posture, dynamics and movement is focussed upon in the fight against back, postural and spinal illnesses.
32
"Ergonomics stands for more than simply comfortable tables and chairs. On the contrary, the individual as a whole must be at the focus“ Henry Jarlsson, Proprietor, CEO
Ergonomics
Standing-sitting Workplace Of all those investigated by renowned institutes, the standingsitting workplace is the best solution in order to attain a balanced shift of loads from the point of view of time between sitting, standing and moving.
The Free-floating Principle The integrated free-floating mechanism in the office chair provides a flexible, healthy sitting posture for the user, in that the chair seat and backrest actively support the motion of the human body independently of each other. Constant pelvic movement is thus made possible, benefiting the entire muscular system of the back and the blood circulation. And it is precisely this "animated sitting" which is demanded by orthopaedic surgeons and occupational physicians.
33
For us, a good design is not simply reflected in aesthetic quality or in better functionality. What is important, are the ideas, concepts and systems which accompany our customers in their ever-changing office environment. Design is, therefore, in the first instance a question of the project and solution competence which each and every member of our staff up to globally renowned designers have internalised.
fenix Design: Wolfgang C. R. Mezger "Best of NeoCon 2008" Representative modernity, a striking trendsetter in demanding interiors.
SM400 Design: Gerd Lange First Federal Prize "Gute Form" 1968 (German Marketing Award), "Gute Industrieform" iF Hanover 1969 - unaltered construction since 1968.
34
Design
salida net Design: Daniel Figueroa "red dot design award 2010", "iF product design award 2010". Where interior architecture expresses itself in terms of transparency and delicacy, salida net underlines the creative message.
35
OMNI Design: Carl Öjerstam "red dot design award 2008" Omni is an invitation to meetings – it offers more than is visible at first sight.
36

SILENT WHISPER Design: Sigrid Strömgren "Design Award Guldsyrsan 2008", "red dot design award 2008". Silent Whisper has been specifically developed to reduce the noise level, making for improved room acoustics.
LIMPAN Design: Frida Ottemo Källström Rocking stool for more active and creative meetings.
37
Continuous innovations are part and parcel of our company culture. Cooperating with European research institutes and our customers, we are constantly optimising our products and developing pathbreaking solutions.
ios
Occupational science is a complex field, an office chair must comply to certain standards, biotechnology has taken on as important a role as has design. These factors have been crucial, and have given rise to the idea of a flexible and yet ergonomically correct backrest design, which adapts constantly to the movements of the user. There is one answer to the question: "How can the functionality of an office swivel chair be designed to be more user-friendly?" – The ios innovation with eflexŽ.

in_time Y3, e-shuttle
in_time Y3 Ingenious yet simple. The computer keyboard and mouse are accommodated in a recessed compartment in the in-time Y3 tabletop, tilted seven degrees to the rear. Fingers are thus placed in a normal working position on the keyboard - that is, at a lower level than the wrists. Occupational scientists at the Technical University of Darmstadt (IAD) have approved the ergonomic posture at the new Y3 table.
e-shuttle The e-shuttle wheeled transport trolley permits independent tasking. Wherever there is no mains electricity supply, it provides the energy. With its extendable handle and on its large wheels, it can be easily pulled to wherever you wish to work. The e-shuttle is charged on a favourably-priced night tariff, and its capacity is sufficient for all electrical devices, such as a PC, printer, scanner, monitor or a cellphone charging cradle.
