Dewsbury Town Hall will be throwing open its doors to celebrate its 125th Birthday! The Town Hall was officially opened on 17th September 1889. As part of these anniversary celebrations and to tie in with the Heritage Open weekend we are inviting everyone to look around this spectacular Town Hall. Explore our old Court Room, enjoy Tea and Cakes in our grand Victorian concert hall, discover the Dewsbury Great Exhibition and view our vintage photographs of the Town Hall in days gone by.

Artefacts
Various artefacts from the Town Hall will also be on display including Weights and Scales, a 1930s Telephone and large ceremonial chairs. Plus view the Town Halls Silverware.
Weddings and Celebrations
Come view the new Register Office Wedding Ceremony Room plus the whole top floor will be transformed for a wedding ceremony, a drinks reception and a wedding breakfast!

Electronic Village
Electronic Village are celebrating their 20th Birthday in September and will also be throwing open their doors and with various drop in sessions including, beginners guide to the internet and CV writing workshops.
Organised Tours
Dewsbury Matters will be hosting two organised Tours of the Town Hall on the day 11.30am-12.30pm and 3.00-4.00pm. Maximum of 20 places per tour, places can be booked from Dewsbury Town Hall Box Office from Thursday 4th September. Please note the tour will involve a lot of walking and the use of stairs
