Chinese Family Genealogy Final Year Project - Best of Show for the School of Design 2013 Annual Design Show
Kit’s Selected Works
A Chinese genealogy designed to be more accessible and contextual for the readers Chinese Genealogy is a text-oriented and informative document archive that records detailed registers of a clan. Its complex structure, massive information and specific Chinese terms used in the book are the reason why the statement above occurred. Research showed that the current design is not user oriented to the user’s context. With the dedication to my family and extended relatives, this project was made to provide a new navigation experience and bridge connection between family member and their family history.

Medicine Label redesign for elderly
Kit’s Selected Works
Icon development and prototype development for the medicine label.
It is a major issue in Hong Kong where elderly face problem taking their medicine properly due to the poorly designed medicine label. In this project we worked with the elderly from an old folks home at Nan Cheong to redesign the label. Home visits and user test were crucial in the entire process because feedbacks from the end users are the reason why we design.

Experimental
One day, as I was eating an orange, I noticed the interesting texture of the outer skin on the slice of orange. It associates me to the wings of butterfly. Hence, I experimented it with photogram and recorded the process of the evolution of an orange to a butterfly.

Campaign
BE MINI.
Kit’s Selected Works
This is a real project where we, a group of five multidisciplinary students has to work with a client, the MINI group from BMW. We were given the brief to propose 3 concepts to 3 themes, Motorsport, British Culture and Arts and Culture. While working on these campaigns we have to keep in mind that the brand essence of MINI is to wow people and be different. The Let’s Picnic campaign is my favorite concept of the 3 concepts. By exagerating the significant frame and light box branding style, we wanted to bring in the british culture of having high tea picnic in a cooling greenhouse at the open space in front of the Time Square Causeway Bay Hong Kong. The client liked this concept a lot but it was too costly to build the set, therefore, another team won the pitch.
The End. I hope you enjoyed my work. I would really love to have a meet up so I can share more about my work, especially my final year project. Here is my contact, oikeat.lam@gmail.com +852 9830 7465 Have a nice day ;)
