Tena Koutou Katoa. Greetings It is a privilege to work and lead in a school that strives to be a centre of learning excellence. The hallmark of Kavanagh College is its positive caring atmosphere, commitment to high standards and focus on student learning.
History In 1876 education began on our site making it the oldest Catholic school in New Zealand. Originally it was a boy's only school named St Paul's and then in 1987 the boy's and girl's Catholic high schools combined, new buildings were erected and Kavanagh College was established.
Kavanagh is recognised as a leading provider of international education. We are a multi-cultural school that values diversity and seeks to embrace students from all over the world. There is strong demand for places in the College which demonstrates the high esteem Kavanagh College is held in the community.

I do not think I will forget such an incredible experience that was filled with surprise and laughter. Everyone seemed to be kind and friendly, what's more, you will be so grateful that KC is creating such a pure English environment for International Students, giving us assistance generously. No matter who you meet, they always have a smile. Come and share this fantastic school, no matter where you are from!"
When I left Brazil, I was excited to come to another country and another school, and I know that when I go home I will miss the school, my host family and all my friends. KC is a good school for International students to learn English; the teachers are patient and always help with everything. Thanks to all KC! I will never forget the time I spent here! (Eloisa, Brazil, age 16)

I've been here at KC for two and a half years. I found it is a fantastic thing meeting people from overseas and getting on with them! It was really enjoyable spending time and having great experiences at Kav, which I never had before. I am proud to meet you all in my life in NZ!"
I came to NZ mainly to improve my English and get the experience of being in another country with a different culture. The students at KC are really nice and treat you with respect, you can easily find new friends here. The teachers help you with any problem you might have and I really improved my English. Thanks, Kavanagh!
