Kevin Coble Honored

Assistant Public Works Director Kevin Coble was honored at the Town Employee Christmas Lunch today for twenty five years of service. He is always the first in if there is a water or sewer main break and we are lucky to have him.

Congratulations and thank you Kevin!

Liberty Receives NC Commerce Grant

The Town of Liberty was awarded a $49,999 planning grant from NC Commerce. The grant will assist the Town as they conduct a planning and feasibility study to renovate a 3,000 square foot space on the 2nd floor of the Liberty Heritage Museum. The Town is planning to transform the space in to a community meeting and educational space.

If you missed the Land Development public input meetings you can still fill out the survey and get you voice heard. All maps that were at the meetings are displayed at Town Hall during normal working hours - 9 am - 5 pm.

Hard copies of the survey are available as well! All surveys are due by Feb 17!

Liberty Chamber Monthly Newsletter : February 2023

The Liberty Chamber is excited for another great year in 2023! Membership renewals have been sent out via mail and are available on our website! Payments are due upon receipt. This year we will be introducing a new website and member only platform through Growth Zone. In the upcoming weeks please be on the lookout for emails related to how Growth zone works and how to set up your login info! This will be a great tool for your business to utilize! You will be able to update your own website listing, create job openings, post events, sales, workshops, etc to the community calendar, communicate with other members, register for events, have direct access to important links, and so much more!

Reminder, if you would like to take advantage of our Digital Sign advertising, we are running a discount special. Buy a year of advertising by February 28th and receive a 20% discount! You can contact the Executive Director, Amanda Price for more information. In addition to our membership perks, this year, any new Chamber member will receive one month of free advertising on our Digital Sign! New members can use this free month whenever it’s most convenient for their business!

We are excited for our upcoming events! Our first event for 2023, is our Annual Spring Luncheon! Save the date for March 17th @ 12 noon! Be on the lookout for updates about our guest speaker! Additionally, members will receive an update from our Chamber President as well as an update from the Town of Liberty! Our Second event is the Annual Chamber Banquet! Save the date for Saturday April 1st! We are looking forward to a fun filled awards ceremony and fundraiser! Our third kickoff event, back by popular demand, is Food Truck Friday! Food Truck Friday will start back up in May!

We are looking forward to another great year at the Chamber, but we need your help! We are currently seeking board members. We are encouraging our business members to send a representative from their business to volunteer on our board. If you or any of your employees would like to serve, please contact us for more information!

HE-0004 - U.S. 421 intersection improvements - Randolph County

Proposal to improve three at-grade intersections and make other transportation improvements on U.S. 421 in Randolph County

Project Overview

The N.C. Department of Transportation proposes to convert three at-grade intersections on U.S. 421 and make other improvements in Randolph County near the Guilford County line.

Improvements include:

Conversion of at-grade intersection to interchange

Colonial Trading Path/Shiloh Road

Julian Airport Road (S.R. 2502)

Shiloh Road/Starmount Road (S.R. 2407)

Closure of at-grade intersection

Browns Meadow Road (S.R. 2408)

Intersection realignment

Shiloh Road/Colonial Trading Path/US 42

Old Red Cross Road (S.R. 2403)/Shiloh Roa

Old Red Cross Road/Harold Meadow Road (S.R. 2404)

The purpose of the U.S. 421 interchange project is to improve traffic operations and enhance safety within the study area by providing effective access to U.S. 421 from the local roadways.
