The Liberty Leader Newspaper “We teamed up with Aire Serv, a n e i g h b o r l y company, because their core values aligned with ours. We are deeply rooted in our community and enjoy making the air in which we live and breathe, comfortable and clean for our neighbors
Let us introduce you to Ray. He was our rst walk in customer when we opened our Aire Serv of Liberty location. He came in to buy a lter for his HVAC system. Over the years we got to know him and developed a relationship with him Ray was born in 1928. He was barely 18 when he was drafted into war by the Army. Ray is a lifetime resident of Liberty. This is where he raised his family with his wife Cladie. As Ray continued to age, he utilized our services more and became a member

Green Day landscaping. We offer a full range of lawn maintenance with free estimates.Contact buster at 910-988-0661. Commercial and residential. Fully insured
Earlier this year Ray had to reschedule his heat maintenance because he had a death in the family. We immediately lifted him up in prayer. Later we learned the loss he experienced was his wife of 68 years, Cladie. Shortly thereafter he had surgery on his eyes. As life will sometimes have it, his HVAC system also began to give him troubles and he could not afford to make all the repairs necessary for his system to operate safely We believe God places people in your life for a reason, sometimes a season or even a lifetime. When we learned our longtime customer and hometown hero was in need, we knew exactly what we had to do! We jumped right in, teamed up with local businesses and individuals collecting the funds to replace Ray’s heating & air conditioning system for him. We couldn’t think of a better way to help a member of our community. He served our ne country well before we were even thought of, this was the least we could do to repay him for his sacri ces We would like to give a special thank you to High Tech Collision, K Raymond Company and Sacknit, all of which are Liberty small businesses and active members of our community. Along with our supplier, Ferguson Enterprises of Greensboro and the manufacturer, Goodman, for their donations We are honored that Ray chose us for his comfort needs and that he allowed us to be of service to him. God Bless you Ray. Thank you for your service. May you live the rest of your life without

Most of you know Jenna Lee Bruscino has been battling breast cancer. She is one of our own here in Liberty, a mom to 2 young boys, wife to a devoted re ghter and a beautiful young woman who has been faced with a battle that no one should have to go through. Having cancer is, has always been and will always be a very scary thing to go through but having to do it during a pandemic adds lots of extra stress to cancer patients. Working at the cancer center I see it, I hear it. You have to come alone to your treatments. Sometimes that means sitting all day long, alone and scared. It means being afraid of getting sick and doing everything you can to prevent it because you don’t know what Covid would do to your body while it’s also trying to ght cancer. Aside from the pandemic, Having to help your kids understand why mommy is losing her hair, could you imagine? Worrying about where the money will come from for your next treatment and how long it’s going to take to pay for everything when only one person in the household can work. There is so much more I could list. When someone has cancer they go through more than most people could imagine. We have a chance to come together as a community and help this family! fi

people of Liberty! Owner, Dayna Evans, spent the last year and a half before opening Hometown Nutrition working at the North Carolina Children's Hospital during the pandemic, and saw time and time again how health begins with what you put into your body and staying active. Dayna and her family are Liberty area locals, and decided there would be no greater joy than to serve their hometown community by helping their neighbors and friends get healthy from the inside out! They worked tirelessly to get the nutrition club open to provide a clean, welcoming, healthy hangout for the community. Hometown Nutrition offers healthy options for meals and energy, and also personalized wellness consulting

Your Wellness Experience Coach Shannon Foster As Men’s Health Month comes to an end, let’s talk about belly fat. When men gain weight, one of the rst places it’s noticeable is our bellies (whereas women tend to gain in their hips and thighs). We can gain weight and our arms and legs don’t look too different but we will notice a change when we look down or try to button our pants Unlike fat in other areas, having belly fat increases your risk of developing a number of serious health conditions—in particular, cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure and diabetes So how do you get rid of belly fat? Unfortunately, you can’t spotcheck weight loss, but there are things that will help you lose weight. Since you gained it in that area, you can lose it in that area 1. Check your labels. Foods you love contain trans fats and added sugar (cakes, biscuits, ice cream, fried food, fast food). Eat more protein and natural, unprocessed foods. 2. Be mindful of how much alcohol you drink. They don’t call it a beer gut for nothing. First, you’re drinking empty calories. Second, when your body gets its energy source from alcohol, it converts the extra energy into storing fat 3. Speaking of being mindful, stress can lead to weight gain. Mindfulness exercises can help manage stress 4. Get more quality sleep 5.
Do more intense workouts. Try a HIIT program or add weight training to your routine *Don’t forget now is a great time to hit a farmer’s market for fresh fruit and vegetables! In season now (or soon to be): cantaloupe, watermelon, peaches and tomatoes I’m planning on running a 5 Day Challenge! It will be geared toward men whose bodies have started to change once they’ve hit 40. When I get it going, feel free to share the information with anyone you think would bene t

Liberty Elementary School has a parade to honor student stricken with cancer
On June 1, a Liberty Elementary student battling cancer was honored with a parade in the front circle of the school. Edwin rode in the car of his choice as staff and other students waved Kim Markham of Asheboro Recycling Center helped organize this event. His car club brought approximately one dozen classic and newer cars, from which Edwin selected the one in which he wanted to ride. Edwin selected Mike Moore's McLaren The entire car club, along with Liberty Fire Department, Julian Fire Department, Staley Fire Department, EMS, and the Liberty Police, showed up with horns and sirens to support Edwin on this special day Through donations and bracelet sales, the school was able to provide a large donation to help with medical expenses. I went on a road trip yesterday and came across this building south of the downtown area in Ramseur that I must have been past dozens of times. The Lineberry Hardware and Repair Shop was located in a handsome building with an apartment over the top of it and found just above the classic sign. Many small business buildings across the United States, especially in the North, had or have living quarters over the top of the building which makes it easy to get to work. The old hand painted sign is a classic one that still stands out to people riding past. Lineberry is a common name in the Ramseur area and there is a street with this name also located here

Bits’n’Pieces presents PLEASE ANSWER THIS QUESTION ~ TK Question: My life has been totally changed by the path I am on. I read inspiring books, met some awesome people who have helped me to learn even more. I am really, really excited to nally know this information! Everybody NEEDS to know this…it will make so much difference in their lives too! But when I try to tell people about this, it turns out to hurt my feelings. They don’t believe me, or they are not interested. Why? Please help me to gure this out. Thank you. T We are all moving along in our lives, learning and believing what works best for us. We follow what we have been told. We do the same things the same way for years, following the patterns of our belief systems, and not even realizing it is happening. Things we are told not to do, or what we are told that cannot work, are things we believe are off limits for us! So we don’t even try. It is extremely dif cult to crack open those beliefs and open up to any

new information. Many of us have heard the story of the family who gathered each year at Thanksgiving to cook the meal together. One year there was a new ‘in-law’ who asked, “Why are you cutting the small end off the ham”? The answer was, “That is how it is done. We all have done it this way for as long as I can remember”. “But why do you do that?” Everybody went to the kitchen for this conversation. It turns out that great-grandma’s pan was too small for the whole ham, so the small end was cut off! Everybody since then has had large pans and ovens, and has continued to cut off the small end, because that is “how they were taught…how it was supposed to be done”. They believed it without question, and did it. I would like to share another story. A long time woodworker had been working with the lathe, turning wood for years. His problem had always been that the jaws, that held the wood, always bumped into each other when he tried to turn wood that was too small. He has taken classes and worked with master wood workers for years, always having the same problem with turning smaller wood. Ways had been tried, and worked pretty well to glue larger pieces to the small piece, so that it would be held securely on the ‘big’ end and allow the small thing to be turned. Well, recently, he decided to turn a small piece of wood, returning again to look at the jaws that did not allow tightening onto the small wood. Suddenly, he noticed a slot that allowed a piece to be removed, allowing the jaws to tighten onto the small wood! Could this be so?!? How in the world had so many people missed that tiny clue? Now it changed EVERYTHING. Small wood could be turned with ease and precision! Awesome! Happy day! Now he could share his discovery with all those others who still believed that it could not be done! Some will believe it and others will not, until they experience it for themselves. He may have to prove his newfound belief to naysayers, who still believe that it cannot be done Thus it is that the shattering of the ‘old belief’ is not a thing to be worked for, earned or dreaded. We don’t have to ‘give up’ anything. We only need to be vigilant and aware. Our new beliefs come to us in the amazing ‘ah ha’ moments that thrill and delight us and propel us forward in the new avenues in our lives. The inspiration is so intense and new that we can’t wait to tell others, forgetting that ‘you have to be there’, remembering ‘that they are in another place’, awaiting their own ‘ah ha’ moments. That is why we get blank stares while we bubble over and go on and on about our incredible discovery. Some may believe it and others may not, until they experience it for themselves. You may have to prove it, and you may not have proof, but only the joy of knowing. Thus it may be yours alone, to savor and enjoy; to carry forth into your life, to nourish and support you in your purpose & onward in your Journey to Your Self! There is your answer for today, my friend. Enjoy your new-found joys and wait to be asked to share what it is that has made you so happy! Planning pays in retirement Personal savings are key to living comfortably Michael doesn’t see himself living on the beach when he retires, but he’d like to vacation there with his wife. He worries he isn’t saving enough in the 401(k) account he has at work, but he isn’t sure what more he can manage with two kids, a mortgage and credit cards. Michael faces two dilemmas: Saving enough money for a comfortable retirement, and making those savings last his lifetime. Like most Americans, having money in retirement may depend on part-time jobs, personal savings and tax-advantaged retirement savings accounts. A financial representative can help people like Michael understand their options, such as 401(k) and 403(b) plans, annuities, and individual retirement accounts (IRAs). The key is to set goals and get started. The longer you wait to start saving, the more you will have to save to reach those goals.
I can help you plan for life. J. B. Griffith, III, FIC, LUTCF, RICP, ChFC®, CLU® 147 S. Fayetteville Street PO Box 699 Liberty, NC 27298 B. 336-622-6020 C. 336-908-1748 j.b.griffith.3rd@mwarep.org
