ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW FOR A SUCCESSFUL RACE WEEKEND

START TIMES (these are estimated times)

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 29, 2020 5k: 7:30 a.m. 2k: 9:00 a.m.

SATURDAY, MARCH 7, 2020 Marathon: 7:00 a.m. Half: 7:00 a.m. Marathon Relay: 7:00 a.m. Q Where are the Start and Finish located? A The Marathon, Half Marathon and Marathon Relay start lines are located on Lake Robbins Drive in front of Town Green Park and fi nishes on The Woodlands Waterway. The 5k and 2K start line is located on The Woodlands Waterway Trolley Path just west of Town Green Park.

Q Can I run with a baby jogger, skateboard, bike or dog? A In the 2k & 5k runs only and you will need to start in the back. In the marathon, half marathon relay; NO. In consideration for the safety of all participants strollers and animals are prohibited on the course unless you are providing support for a person with disability.

Q Can I run with headphones? A Headphones are not prohibited but are strongly discouraged. Participants who wear headphones must remain aware of race offi cials, traffi c and other runners. Any participant who fails to follow directions from race officials is subject to being removed from the racecourse for their own safety and the safety of other participants.

Q What is the time limit for The Woodlands Marathon? A All streets must be reopened to traffi c by 2:00 PM, and all participants must be able to cross the Finish Line by 1:30 PM to be recorded as an offi cial fi nisher (with time and place). To do so, both Marathon, Half Marathon and Relay participants must maintain a pace

no slower than 14:30 minutes per mile throughout the course. Any Marathon or Half Marathon participant slower than the maximum pace at mile 6 of their respective courses will be directed to a SAG (support and gear) vehicle. Any individual electing to refuse SAG will need to move off the course as the right of way will be returned to normal vehicle traffi c fl ow patterns.

No refunds will be given for registered Marathon and Half Marathon participants who are directed to SAG - no exceptions. Back of the Pack Teams (PACERS) for both the Marathon and Half Marathon will wear a special shirt for identifi cation and will maintain the required 14:30 minute pace. Any participants who are concerned about maintaining the maximum pace should keep pace with the applicable Back of the Pack Team pace team. SAG Wagons and equipment trucks will follow the Back of the Pack Teams to move slower runners to the side of road and reopen the streets. These participants will not be able to fi nish the race or receive their medal but may participate in the post race party.

Q Will there be a pace team? A We will have both Marathon and Half Marathon Pace Teams

Q What time will the roads close? A Road and lane closures will be updated on the website as we get closer to the race. Please check the website and look for the offi cial Traffi c Guide.

Q How many water stations are there? A There will be Water Stations along the course, starting at Mile 2 and every 1.5 after that with plenty of water and Gatorade Endurance sports drink on the marathon course. The half marathon water stations will start around mile 1.25 and be located approximately every 1.5 miles after with plenty of water. The 5k will have 2 water stops at mile 1 and 2 on the course.

The Woodlands Marathon course is USA Track and Field certified which makes it a Boston Marathon Qualifier.

Q What do I do if I injure myself on the course? A There will be ATV and bike EMS teams providing medical support along the course. Runners will have access to medical support at each Water Station. Please look for the red medical tents.

Q Is the course closed to traffi c? A Yes, lanes will be closed for runners.

Q Are the courses USA Track & Field Certifi ed? If so, is this a Boston Marathon Qualifi er? A Yes, The Woodlands Marathon course is USA Track and Field certifi ed which makes it a Boston Marathon Qualifi er. The Half Marathon and 5k courses are USA Track and Field certifi ed. Each certifi cation number is listed on the corresponding map.

RELAYS Q Will the race provide shuttles to the Exchange Points along the course? A No, each relay team is responsible for meeting their runner at the exchange point. The Woodlands Marathon Management will provide shuttles back to the race site. The shuttles are not responsible for runners making it back to meet their team members at the fi nish line.

Q Where can I park at the exchange points? A The locations have been determined as best as possible and may be in local neighborhoods. We suggest when available that the relay members get dropped off at their exchange point.

Q How will I know where the exchange point is? A The exchange point will be identified by a white tent and red & black teardrop flag.

Q Can I run in with my team at the fi nish? A Yes, we recommend that team members pick a location at the race site to meet up and proceed to the fi nish line chute behind the Marriott to meet up with their fi nal leg team member. Please run single fi le until you get upon the fi nish line to respect our individual runners.

REGISTRATION Q How many participants are in the Marathon & Half Marathon? A Approximately 35% of participants are Marathon participants.

Q Where can I fi nd race results after the race? A Results of The Woodlands Marathon can be found at the Results Area in the Finish Festival on race day. Results will also be posted online at www.thewoodlandsmarathon.com after the race.

Q Do all participants receive a medal? A Yes, all participants fi nishing either the Marathon, Half Marathon, 5k, Marathon Relay or 2k Fun Run/Walk will receive a unique fi nisher’s medal.

Q Will there be age group awards? A Age group awards will be awarded 3 deep in The Woodlands Marathon, Half Marathon and 5k. Marathon Relay awards will be awarded 3 deep in multiple categories: two-person team and four-person team. Award winners must be present or may have someone pick up their awards during the Awards Ceremony. Awards will not be mailed after the event.

Racing teaches us to challenge ourselves. It teaches us to push beyond where we thought we could go. It helps us to find out what we are made of. This is what we do.
