INTRODUCTION Klara Chavarria Contemporary Art, LLC is based in the heart of Coral Gables (Miami), FL. The space serves as a studio and gallery exclusively representing the work of internationally acclaimed artist Klara Chavarria. Her contemporary paintings have won several awards and are found in hundreds of private collections in the United States, Latin America and Europe. Her work is also part of corporate collections and has been exhibited in numerous art and non art venues, including the Chicago Science and Industry Museum, O’Hare International Airport and the Museum of Modern Art in Guatemala City.

BIOGRAPHY Klara Chavarria was born in Guatemala City on February 27, 1972. She grew up in a family of artists and teachers and started studying academic painting, with a renowned artist and professor, when she was just eight years old . She came to the United States as a graphic design transfer student in 1993 and received a BFA from Kansas State University concentrating in design and painting. After working for corporations in Graphic Design and Marketing and starting her own business, Klara decided to abandoned her corporate life and pursue art full time. She has had studios in Cincinnati, OH, Chicago, IL and now in Coral Gables (Miami), FL. For her, painting is an inner-search providing a creative outlet to communicate and express her interests, feelings and emotions. the opportunity to create, imagine, experiment, grow, communicate and share her ideas with others. Klara’s unique approach to expressionism and figurative abstraction, as well as her exploration of the spiritual and emotional side of humanity, paved the way for her philosophically inclined body of work. In turn, her innovative style and concepts are ever changing and difficult to categorize. She has received honorable invitations for three consecutive years to participate in the prestigious Latin American art auction “Juannio” at the Museum of Modern Art in Guatemala City. Klara is an artistic supporter for various charitable organizations as well as a big supporter of the arts in society and in the community.
Chavarria’s artwork is intellectually stimulating, emotionally ďŹ lled and aesthetically pleasing.

STATEMENT My work reflects a deep interest in our human condition, our yearnings and a search for a true purpose in life. I want to make the invisible visible and the intangible tangible. In my work I want to capture our souls, experiences, relationships, deep emotions, feelings and how these influence our existence. I am interested in the inner and the spiritual aspects of our lives and how it is all connected to our physical world. I strive to find and express our human potential, what unites us and what we share in our world, cultures and society. I want my paintings to be a vehicle that transports you and your imagination to a deeper and meaningful place. My work is an exploration and investigation focusing on our humanity, complexities, creation, discovery, love, acceptance, change and challenges. Klara Chavarria
