I

have chosen another 2 best graphics from the Street Graphic project, and improved them by making them darker and stronger as graphics, and less as just photos.

I

’ve been also considering using those graphics as the cover for the magazine, however decided that the bottle caps with messages were more suitable for it.

“The memory of the childhood holidays hidden in the cabinet of curiosity”

8

M

y cabinet of curiosity was about how and where I spent my childhood summer holidays. It was a way of honoring this amazing time I had there, which I never appreciated.

I

spent my summer holidays at a small village, Raczki. Back then it was nothing special for me, even though we had a pretty good time - me and my cousin. ow since I am not going there anymore, due to a complicated situation between my mother and her sister, I start to appreciate the time which I had there. t took me a long time to figure out what to do my cabinet of curiosity about, until the day I thought of my childhood holidays, and thought it would be a perfect opportunity to honor it.

The hard part was that my dog loved to catch them, and then very one of those items we had to chase him around the back has a unique connection to yard for quite a bit to get them back. e also loved to play cards, when my childhood holidays, which it was raining or too hot to do only I know of. here was a lot of possible topics to consider from for my Earth Artifact project, and the choice was quite hard as I did not want to repeat anything what was already in the original version, or make it too scientific, but at the same time still meaningful.

I

decided to do it about water pollution, and how we contribute to it, and what are the consequences of it. Someone asked me if this is what I wanted to represent the earth to other civilization, and from one point of view not really, as it should be something what we as a race are proud of. However on the other hand yes, as other civilisations might know the answer to our problems. have experimented a bit while doing this graphic, because I am not a big fan of drawing this kinds of graphics. However I wanted to do do a cycle kind of info graphics, which has a very simple, symbolic yet understandable meaning. Maybe the images are not of best quality, but sometimes its not the quality that matters, but the content.

his is the second graphic which I have decided to do - a modernistic way of creating continents out of bubbles. At the beginning it was only about population growth, but I made it show larger areas by increasing the size of the bubbles.

N

ow I have redone my graphic by adding more countries to the population statistics, and also tried to insert information about water pollution from the previous graphic. could have also done a sea from bubbles like countries and add information there, however I decided against it as it would have made this too hard to understand.

y typeface is based on the Wolfgang Weingart’s work. It took me a while to get this to the stage that I was satisfied with. At the beginning I was not entirely sure how this would turn out, as I am not a big fan of bold and strong fonts. However the experience the creation of this gave me, has changed my way of thinking and from now on, I love bold, hard and strong fonts. o make this font a bit more eye-catching, I have changed the colour of the ending bits in some of the letters.

1. Don’t give up. 2. You can achieve greatness only if you fully focused on your task- eliminate all the distractions. 3. Don’t be afraid to be different- don’t become someone you not, just because everyone else are like that. 4. Don’t leave anything just as it is, just because you’re too annoyed for further work. 5. Don’t be afraid of a challenge- you might learn something new. 6. Push yourself to the limits, and become someone better than you already are. 7. Get a new perspective to unstuck yourself. 8. Don’t follow trends just because they’re trends, follow your heart to create your own trend. 9. Take part only in important projects, don’t waste your time on meaningless organizations. 10. Express your feelings through art, even the bad ones- the best pieces comes from your heart. The format of my manifesto is based on Bruce Mau’s “Incomplete manifesto of growth”, however its content is based on my personal thoughts and believes about art and life. As I am a quite young person and do not have a lot of life experience, my manifesto is not very long, however I am planning to expand it, while I gain that experience.
