Shelter Adopts QR Codes QR, Microsoft tags in retail use 2011 marked the entry of shelter big boxes using QR codes or competing Microsoft tags in ads and on displays in stores. Mobile phone users can point and click to get more information from a tag or code that takes them to a website or landing page. JumpScan says 57% of Facebook and Twitter users used QR Codes (a technology like barcodes) at least once in the past year.
