Standard Parking Headquarters Lowis & Gellen Advocate Healthcare - Shared Revenure Cycle Organization (AHC-SRCO) Environmental Resounce Management (ERM) Conway MacKenzie
Standard Parking, headquartered in Chicago, is a leader in parking services and transportation management. With recent acquisitions, Standard Parking was looking to re-brand as SP Plus and highlight all market sectors to bring awareness of the breadth of line that they offer to the community. Partnered with Horn Design and a branding consultant, Standard Parking took the opportunity to create a new identity in which they would be recognized as a full service transportation company. The design intent was to create a modern, energetic space that fostered open communication between employees and teams, while accommodating future growth and flexibility. By creating new space standards and redefining company culture, we built an open, transparent environment. The use of lower panel heights and interior glass front offices created a bright space to take advantage of the extensive park and lake views. Focal points were created through the use of color and specialty lighting to enhance wayfinding around the floor. Hints of branding were used throughout the space to create an environment in which employees will take pride in their role within the company. By focusing on the brand identity and market sectors with custom wallcovering and film designs, light fixtures, and brand colors, we were able to create a unified SP Plus identity.

Lowis & Gellen is an international law firm based out of Chicago, Illinois. They handle a variety of different case types and often have a myriad of clients walking through their doors. Lowis & Gellen contracted with Horn Design to design and build a new conferencing center and additional office space. They needed to cater to the range of clientele, often including children and families, as well as create an up-to-date, modern image that emphasized their culture and outlook as a business. Our goal was to design a space that would uphold their company motto: “You’re not an ordinary client. Why choose an ordinary law firm?”
200 West Adams Street Suite 2001 7,500 RSF
Challenged with an unusual space, we utilized color and lighting to draw attention to the suite and capture clients as they approached the reception area. By strategically using graphic wood wallcovering and red accents throughout the reception area, we were able to lead clients from the elevator lobby to the reception desk and on to the seating area in the conferencing center. A custom window film provided privacy for confidential meetings, as well as brought light into the interior reception and seating areas. Enhanced by their brand color and sleek look, Lowis & Gellen was able to create a sophisticated, inviting space to cater to all their client needs.

Advocate Healthcare has been recognized as one of the nation’s top ten healthcare providers. Advocate operates a network of hospitals, emergency rooms, physician and specialist offices, as well as medical office buildings. In order to gain efficiencies, Advocate decided to make a move to consolidate various call centers and medical office functions. Headquartered out of the Chicago suburbs, this created a central location for the new support facility. The design intent was to create a space focused around employee retention and productivity. With a high stress environment, it was important to create a calming space in which employees felt comfortable and focused to address the issues that would arise. The use of lower panel heights, interior glass front offices and the installation of new perimeter windows created a bright space to take advantage of the natural daylight and lofty warehouse ceilings. Due to the large scale of the converted, single-story warehouse space, wayfinding was a priority. By creating main axis ways, specialty lighting fixtures at major junctions and strategic placement of accent colors, we were able to define the space for easy navigation.
