Slow Stitching

Be introduced to the mindful practise of slow stitching. Explore the combination of colour, form and texture to create beautiful abstract textile art. I will supply you with all that is needed, including unique botanical dyed natural fabrics and threads, embroidery scissors, high quality pins and needles for you to take home to continue your slow stitching journey. Materials all provided - Kit included.

Botanical Dyeing - Bundle Method

In this workshop you will be introduced to the magic and beauty of natural dyeing. I will share with you which plants and kitchen waste can be used for dyeing, how to effectively mordant fabric and the technique of bundle dyeing. You will create your own unique silk scarf reflecting the beauty of nature Materials all provided.

Botanical DyeingExtraction Method

Introduction to the magic and beauty of natural dyeing. Learn which plants and kitchen waste can be used, how to effectively mordant protein and cellulose fibres and the technique of extraction dyeing. Receive 50 grams of pure wool yarn as well as a selection of cotton yarns and linen, cotton and silk fabric to experiment with. We will create at least 3 colours to use. Materials all provided.

Workshops

Dyeing Yarn with IndigoHow to dye a gradient set of yarn

Venue

In this workshop you’ll be introduced to the magic of indigo dyeing. You will learn how to set up an indigo vat, prepare yarn for dyeing, dye a gradient set of skeins and care for your dyed yarn. Each participant will leave with 5 x 20g skeins of dyed yarn (20g of each shade), a recipe, supply list and instructions. All materials will be provided and kits will be available for purchase on the day.
