The points are perfect, not too pointy and definitely not dull. I love them!
Right now my projects are on US4 needles, so I did a deep dive on the US4 from the lace set and the regular set. The points are the same (perfect). I prefer the skinny cable on the lace set to the heavier cable on the regular set.
-Michele Lee Bernstein, Designer
…I have been using them on my current project. I'm using the Size 4 from the lace set. My preferred needle type is stainless steel with a very pointy tip so I'm liking them. I also like the cable and the smoothness of the connection.

Our First Lace & Sock Needles
Strong stainless steel and our new cables allowed us to create our first ever small interchangeable set for lace and socks! The Options Interchangeable (IC) Lace Set is designed with smaller gauge needle tips that connect snag-free to a new extra thin green cable with a sturdy, nylon-coated steel cord. The extra thin cables feature fine gauge cable joins to match the smaller needle tips, and the cord is thinner, too! The new lace cords have the perfect amount of flexibility to avoid twists and tangles, and just like with our other cables, the smooth cable join lets your stitches slide around your knitting needles with no snags while the long threaded join ensures that your cables and knitting needle tips stay securely in place.

"I could write a book on High Desert, but I’ll condense it to this: High Desert Worsted is soft to the touch, feels great against the skin, and is a joy to knit with. It has a bouncy feel that handles cables beautifully. There is just enough drape to allow sweaters to hang in a flattering fashion and it wears so well, without pilling. Hands down, High Desert is one of my favorite yarns of all time."

Independent Designer Partnership
THE BACKSTORY
We started the Independent Designer Partnership (IDP) program in 2009 as a way to develop patterns in Knit Picks’ yarns for our customers and to support independent designers by giving them an additional platform. Since then, it has grown to include hundreds of designers and thousands of patterns!
Designers submit their patterns and pattern ideas for consideration to the program. We look for high quality, well written, professional patterns using Knit Picks yarn only. Designers retain all rights to their patterns; there is no exclusivity agreement so designers can continue to sell their patterns in other marketplaces such as Ravelry, Etsy, and personal websites. Designers also decide the selling price of their pattern.
Acceptance of patterns to the IDP program is decided by our Review Board, which includes members of the Knit Picks book, marketing, and yarn teams. We meet regularly to review submissions. Once approved, Knit Picks is happy to provide yarn support for the project. Designers are responsible for the sample/test projects, tech edit, pattern layout, and photography.
Our IDP collection is curated with high-quality patterns only, which means only professional-level patterns are accepted. This applies to the pattern writing, tech editing, photography, charts & schematics, and PDF layout design. Designers also provide all pattern support and questions, creating a connection between them and their customers.
