RACHELLE COFFEY

On Purpose Trauma-informed Care

Rachelle Coffey is a psychotherapist and founder of On Purpose Traumainformed Care (OPTIC). Her passion for social advocacy and prison reform led her to her current position as Director of Mental Health for Compassion Prison Project based out of Los Angeles, California. Rachelle’s own history of trauma and poverty empowered her desire to provide a new standard of care for those suffering from symptoms of unresolved trauma. For the last fifteen years Rachelle has provided support to Arizona’s death row population, giving life to a current project she is working on with the University of Wisconsin Green Bay to bring trauma-informed and practical education to the incarcerated population and those working in Wisconsin prisons. Rachelle received her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marshall University and is a proud member of Phi Kappa Phi. Outside of work, Rachelle loves spending time outdoors with her two girls, Rhiannon and Stella.
