THE POWER OF
EXPERIENCE Living proof that every experience is an education
RESOURCES FOR THE ROAD AHEAD Every experience is an education. Knowledge gains value when it’s applied. In Alumni Hall, we’ve brought together four centers that allow you to gain experience in research, service, internships, and off-campus study. Resources that send you around the world, help you make connections between theory and practice, and build a bold, brilliant future. Also, every incoming Knox student receives a Power of Experience Grant—$2,000 to support a dynamic, hands-on learning experience in their junior or senior year.
PURSUE YOUR PASSIONS The Vovis Center for Research and Advanced Study provides competitive funding through the Richter Memorial Funds and the Artists, Scholars, Scientists, and Entrepreneurs of Tomorrow (ASSET) program to support self-directed work during your time at Knox. The Center also recruits and supports students applying for post-graduate fellowships and scholarships (Fulbright, Truman, National Science Foundation) that support scholarship, service, and interdisciplinary projects after graduation.
$350,000 dedicated to independent research and advanced work by students every year

GET INTO THE WORLD The Stellyes Center for Global Studies oversees off-campus study programs in partnership with dozens of specialized programs on every corner of the globe. Some programs include internships, research opportunities, or fieldwork that involves close work with faculty; all integrate living, learning, and working in a new setting. Students in any major can experience an off-campus program; when you do, your financial aid travels with you. If you’re interested in international public service, our Peace Corps Preparatory Program provides a course of study to help you prepare for service after you graduate.
