kookbooks

DAS AMORTISIERT SICH NICHT. kookbooks is a Berlin based lab for poetry as life form and poets' self-defence. Founded in 2003 by poet Daniela Seel and illustrator Andreas Töpfer, it emerged from the artists' network KOOK and runs about seven titles a year. Celebrating our 10th anniversary, the Literaturwerkstatt Berlin wrote: "The most important poetry presses in Germany ... what would we do without kookbooks? For ten years now this press has been an unequalled poetic treasure trove and the list of authors ... reads like an encyclopedia entry '21th century German poetry', written in 2050. Any poetry library without kookbooks is a sad thing." Several of our titles received "Most beautiful German books" awards. Among our authors are Sonja vom Brocke, Daniel Falb, Martina Hefter, Hendrik Jackson, Dagmara Kraus, Tristan Marquardt, Steffen Popp, Monika Rinck, Sabine Scho, Katharina Schultens, Farhad Showghi, Ulf Stolterfoht, Mathias Traxler, and Uljana Wolf.
