MOTOR AND BATTERY SPECIFICATIONS The number of Amp hours (Ah) is multiplied by the battery voltage (V) to give the number of watt-hours (Wh) of energy which the battery can deliver.

DAY LIGHT FUNCTION Extra LEDs are fitted which ensure that you’re highly visible in traffic all day long. Then at dusk a high power LED headlight takes over. If the battery is empty, the motor works as a dynamo so that you will never be without lights as you ride.

AUTOMATIC RECHARGE TECHNOLOGY The battery pack will be recharged whenever no pressure is being exerted on the pedals, for example while braking or going downhill when you’re riding along, but not pedalling.

POWER ASSIST Automatic power assist or ‘extra’ power assist, by twisting a ‘throttle’. You can make the electric bike move itself, both forwards and backwards..

ION SOFTWARE UPDATES We regularly develop Software Updates to make your electric bike with ION Technology safer and more comfortable to use. ION Software Updates let you keep your E-Bike always updated to the latest functionality.

GUAR ANTEE Customers receive a two-year guarantee as standard from us on specific parts of KOGA E-bikes (wear items are excluded) and in addition a lifelong warranty on the frame, as well as a 10 year guarantee on the paintwork. With a KOGA E-bike you can be assured that KOGA will be able to deliver spare parts for the bike for many years. The battery pack too has a two year guarantee as standard, irrespective of the number of charge cycles. KOGA advises that whenever possible, the bike be connected to the charger: the system is protected against overcharging.

M AXIMUM R ANGE Figures given for range are based on use of ECO mode. As well as depending on battery capacity, the range achievable is heavily affected by numerous factors including principally: the selected power assist level, ride conditions, ambient temperature, motor efficiency, tyre pressure, weight of rider and luggage, and use of gears. Figures given for range are intended only as a guide, and are not a guarantee of range achievable in practice.

KOGA obviously doesn’t base the design of a new carbon frame solely on beautiful lines and shapes, but also on the correct balance between weight and rigidity. The shapes and sizes of the separate “tubes” determine the particular features of the frame. In order to optimise this shape KOGA uses advanced computer calculations: FEM (Finite Element Method). Within a single frame design various different features are possible by using composites with different kinds of carbon. Carbon is available in different grades, with each having a particular tensile strength. Carbon fibres with a high tensile strength (High Modulus Carbon) enable us to

use less material, producing a frame that is extremely lightweight. The combination of the type of carbon, the number of layers, the angle of the carbon and the resin used, determine the particular features of a frame. In developing a new frame we analyse the target group and determine which qualities are important for that particular frame. We consider stiffness, weight, strength, comfort, design and price. For both stiffness and strength there are certain values each frame has to comply with. In addition, a frame can be provided with an optic layer (mesh) which can also contribute to its strength.

SAFE T Y You are always safe on the road with a KOGA E-bike: our bikes are equipped with state of the art innovations in electric bike technology. Sensors in the motor continuously monitor the rotational speed and the force which is applied to the pedals. So there is no risk that the motor will spring into action unexpectedly, and you can safely leave a foot on the pedals while, for example, waiting at a red traffic light. The jerk-free assistance cuts in very smoothly. And because the control buttons are right next to the hand grips, you can operate the E-bike without moving your hands from the handlebar.

Make sure your battery is always charged at departure. Your battery is protected from overcharging, so connect your battery to the charger as often as possible. Choose the lowest level of pedal assistance. I nflate the tyres to the correct air pressure regularly (as shown on the side of the tyre). Use the lowest gear. Shift down when cycling against the wind or when you are going up a bridge, exactly as you would on a bike without pedal assist.
