COMMISSIONING Q UA L I F I C AT I O N S
Commissioning Building Commissioning is the systematic process of proactively verifying that building systems are designed, installed, thoroughly tested, operated, and maintained in accordance with the Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR). Over the last fifteen years, since Kohler Ronan began providing commissioning services, we have developed a unique approach that integrates and enhances the traditionally separate functions of design peer review, equipment startup, control system calibration, testing, adjusting and balancing, equipment documentation, and facility staff training, while adding the activities of documented functional testing and verification.
Commissioning The planning & execution of our commissioning methodology is grounded in industry reference guidelines and standards documents, including ASHRAE Guideline 0-2005 and the new ASHRAE Standard 202-2013 – Commissioning Process for Buildings and Systems. Our approach is unique in that we draw upon our trade-specific engineering talent to develop an internal commissioning team with unparalleled technical proficiency and diversified real-world project experience. Kohler Ronan assigns senior engineers to each specific discipline and tasks them with design documentation, shop drawing, and submittal reviews; their input is also integral to the development of thorough functional performance test scripts, systems deficiency identification and resolution. Our commissioning teams also incorporate professionals with extensive building energy and analytics experience, including energy management systems design, Building Management Systems [BMS] integration, and performance measurement and verification [M&V]. Kohler Ronan’s proven commissioning approach has resulted in successful project delivery and sustained building performance on a variety of projects, ranging from disaster recovery facilities for prominent financial organizations, to LEED certified buildings for prestigious educational institutions. Given our past experience, unique approach, and talented staff, Kohler Ronan is well positioned to provide exceptional building commissioning services.
