Life Changing and Sustainable Adventures
Norwegian Adventure Company is a locally based Coastal Cruise and Adventure Company and are specialists on Arctic and coastal Norway. Our HQ is in Svolvær in the Lofoten islands, and our sales office is in Oslo, Norway’s capital. Our guests are active explorers from all over the world - corporate groups, private groups, friends, families, and single travellers. We create bespoke adventures that combine spectacular nature, unique destinations, organised activities, local culture, and culinary experiences from the region. NAC’s operations are high quality seamless productions, focusing on local sustainability and an eco-friendly footprint.
Welcome to Arctic and Coastal Norway, powered by nature!
Norway is a fascinating destination; a nature lover’s paradise that also boasts numerous vibrant, trendy and historic cities to explore. Whether you’re an adventure seeker, culinary lover, or simply want to snuggle up in a glass igloo and watch the stunning Northern lights, Norway won’t disappoint.
Our favorite part is the coastal region, which has been our Northern playground for adventures and explorer cruises since 2005. This beautiful coastline is the world’s second longest (100,900 km) and comes with a whole plethora of Nordic legends.
Stretching from Lindesnes in the south to Kirkenes in the north and then further beyond to the northern island of Svalbard, close to the North Pole. We fulfil the dreams of modern explorers through a combination of nature, cultural and local culinary experiences and tailored seasonal activities. These are designed to be inclusive for all fitness levels and multi-generational.
Today Norway is still a nature haven, with a small population of around 5.4 million people. The country enjoys political and economic stability, with friendly
locals happily speaking English with our foreign guests. Even though most parts of the country are off the beaten track, Norway has an extensive network of roads, ferries, and small airports with regular flights between cities and small towns, and further connections to mainland Europe, US, Asia, and the South Pacific. Within three hours of boarding a flight in the capital Oslo, you can be in the middle of the Arctic wilderness of Svalbard – an island with more polar bears than people.
Opportunities abound in coastal Norway, whether you want action or relaxation, fun in the snow or lounging under the midnight sun, seeing the sights, or pushing your boundaries, kayaking, skiing, hiking or fishing – the choice is yours. We are here to tailor your next adventure, whether for a weekend or a month. We create days you will remember, hopefully for the rest of your life.
Whether you want action, relaxation, lounging under the midnight sun, seeing the sights, pushing your boundaries, kayaking, skiing, hiking or fishing – the choice is yours.

An amazingly beautiful and well-organized tour in magnificent scenery and wonderful surroundings - recommended!
JacobAn unforgettable trip to the Lofoten Islands has come to an end. There’s been some fantastic days full of new experiences, and it has been a pleasure to see how we all came together and helped each other climb the mountains, catch the fish, and cheer each other on to walk the extra mile.
Experiences like this really strengthen the unity among all colleagues across countries. It is safe to say that this has been a trip to remember, and we could not have imagined a better way to kick off the celebration of our 20th anniversary. Medidyne
Starting your adventure on the south coast, the fantastic capital of Oslo is a perfect hub for inbound international flights. It’s a vibrant city packed with culture, foodie delights and lies scenically alongside the fjord. From Oslo you can marvel at the beautiful, rugged coastline as you head further south with one small village after another with typical red and white wooden houses. Alternatively, you can travel in style on historic boats through the water routes. Upon reaching the windy southern tip at Cape Lindesnes, nature changes suddenly, it gets wilder and rougher, and the open ocean welcomes you.
Trondheim and the surrounding areas have several attractions including the most famous one, the Nidaros Cathedral, an impressive sight right in the centre of the city. The history of the cathedral and Olav the Saint makes it one of the most popular pilgrimage destinations in Europe. Just outside the city you find areas that are great for walking and hiking and dotted with many historic sites.

This part of Norway is known for its beautiful fjords and alpine mountains that start in the North Sea and rise for hundreds of kilometers inland. The region has been a favourite of European nobility and other famous visitors since the late 1800’s, including Kaiser Wilhelm of Germany and the British climber William Cecil Slingsby, who made many first ascents there. The whole region is packed with world heritage sites, fantastic nature and glaciers, spectacular hikes, centuries old stave churches, picturesque cities and so much more.
Northern Norway can be found on the bucket list of many seasoned travellers. The lure is the raw, wild nature, massive sea swells, Arctic fjords, exciting activities and the incredible light, midnight sun in the summer and northern lights during the autumn and winter. You can venture to the unforgettable island of Svalbard, half-way to North Pole. The region has been settled for thousands of years due to its relatively warm climate, ice-free harbours and excellent fishing. An adventure above the Artic circle is a lifechanging experience.

SUSTAINABLE TRAVEL can mean a lot of things. According to the United Nations (UN) sustainable tourism is the concept of visiting a place as a tourist and trying to make only a positive impact on the environment, society, and economy. Following this logic, sustainability in tourism means: Respect for the people who call the location home, the culture and customs of the area, and the socioeconomic system. Attempting to have a low impact on the environment and local culture, while helping to generate future employment for local people. Ensuring that development brings a positive experience for local people, tourism companies and the tourists themselves.
Norwegian Adventure Company are committed to creating sustainable experiences in harmony with the local environment, nature and with our project partners. We have five focus areas: the experience itself, the raw materials used, the connection to the local community in each destination, the wellbeing of guests and that of our partners.
A vital part of our vision in Arctic & Coastal Norway is to help take care of communities, society in general and our environment. Since we started out in 2005, we have used local suppliers whether it is purchasing transport services, local raw materials, guide and hosting services and worked co-operatively with local accommodation providers at various destinations. We make a positive contribution, on a variety of levels, to the local societies and environments in which we have chosen to work.
For us, the road to sustainable experiences begins with a recognition that we have a responsibility through our operations and activities, which is supported by a long-term vision and operational plan. We care deeply about ethical, economic, and environmental issues that affect our activities. For example, we’ve chosen that all the main elements of the culinary menus on our adventures (and the raw materials in the food) must be locally produced by sustainable agricultural and production methods.
By selecting Norwegian Adventure Company travellers:
1. Support the local economy
2. Support the local culture and communities
3. Can choose small, lesser-known destinations
4. Can choose environmentally friendly transportation at the destination
5. Can choose environmentally friendly lodgings
6. Can choose environmentally friendly activities with a low environmental impact
7. Can participate in rewarding volunteer activities to support local communities
8. Can choose hyper-local, culinary experiences based upon local produce without any waste
9. Can choose environmentally conscious destinations in Norway
Norwegian Adventure Company are committed to promoting local culture, traditions, and raw materials from the regions we operate in. We encourage our guests to try truly local delicacies and drinks. Catching their own fish and perhaps having it cooked by award-winning chefs. We promote local raw material suppliers and purchase locally through the Arctic Adventure Cuisine dining experience.
We encourage guests to taste local delicacies and consider unique crafts and local experiences with a low environmental footprint. In this way we all help to keep a destination as an authentic, thriving place to stay and visit.
We facilitate trips to stunning and slightly less-known places outside the usual tourist trail. As a point of practice, NAC has developed routes and concepts that deliberately go to places where you can be alone in nature and enjoy the lack of crowds. Often, you’ll be far away from the main tourist areas.
We’ve made a serious, long-term commitment to being viable and competitive. This is evident in our relationships and in our interaction with the local community, our guests, the natural world, and our project partners.
Through our adventures, NAC seeks to help preserve, show respect to, and highlight the local cultural heritage, authentic culture, traditions, and distinctive features of Northern Norway.
Using our experiences and adventures, we want to contribute to the preservation of the natural landscape in Arctic & Coastal Norway, and promote the areas without compromising its resources or beauty. We operate with small groups on a tour, which helps to support this objective, hence our boutique adventure profile.
Through our activities, we aim to minimise the guest’s air, water, and land pollution, as well as minimising waste; we are working towards having zero food waste in our operations.
Our activities are safety and quality controlled. We work to provide safe, satisfying, and enriching experiences for all guests, regardless of gender, race, disability, or other factors.
Arctic cuisine is associated with seafood, but a growing revolution has begun. Land-based farmers are beginning to offer an array of specialties using vegetable, herb, and dairy products from the region, as well as quality meats such as lamb and reindeer. scany.
We sit upon a hidden treasure in the North that few Norwegian and foreign tourists know about – Our menu; devised from highest quality local ingredients by some of the world’s best chefs, has a distinctive seasonal quality that showcases the best that Arctic nature can offer.
Nothing grows fast in the cold. Slow growth and a harsh climate have an effect on the animals, organisms and plants that live there. The best chefs claim that the flavours are both more distinctive and purer at the same time. An Arctic kitchen is more minimalist. It’s a place where less is more when it comes to cooking techniques, where you taste the flavors in the raw material itself and in how the ingredients are combined.
We let you taste Arctic and Coastal Norway on a plate
Since 2018 we’ve been on a journey of discovery through Northern Norway with Gunnar Hvarnes to develop our own Arctic Adventure Cuisine. This is a journey through the counties of Nordland, Troms and Finnmark, with more than 30 small and large raw material producers from the mountains, fjords, sea, and land of the region. Our food concept and menus evolve through three distinct culinary seasons - winter, summer, and autumn.
Arctic Adventure Cuisine is an integral part of all NAC Coastal Cruises and can be offered as a distinct concept for food lovers from corporate – and private groups.
Norwegian Adventure Company are acknowledging the lack of equal opportunities when it comes to travel experiences, and that diversity, equity, access, and inclusion require more than short-term solutions.
We believe the travel industry needs to widen its scope, making inclusivity more visible in their product development, marketing, and communication. We believe in a more inclusive society and adventures for everyone and will strive to become an adventure company for all. If you, your group
of travellers or company have questions regarding inclusion or facilitating the travel for everyone, please get in touch with us. We will be happy to come up with ideas and solutions to your request, and we will continuously work with access for all.
