2. Introduction to Product Portfolio 1) Smart Spark Exciter ▐

Apply Solid State Type Rather Than Discharge Tube Type

The conventional discharge tube type is consumable device, and thereby should be replaced regularly. All of the tube type has been imported from overseas, and small quantity of its production has long been issued. The smart spark exciter, however, will clear this issue, and incorporates solid-state type of electronic circuit aiming at playing a same role of the conventional tube type. Unlike the conventional type, this solid-state type can be used semi permanently unless it is damaged by external force. ▐ E nable to identify whether spark plug is activated by rigging

operation indicator or not (LED Lamp) There is LED indicator on exciter, and it allows operator to check normal operation of spark plug. The LED indicator can be placed and used within a nearby distance from operator. When lifespan of spark plug is closing to be run out, the spark is triggered one after another or randomly. The lamp will be off whenever high voltage energy is in emission. If the LED is blinking randomly, the igniter tip is very close to die. But if the LED is on continuously, the igniter is open, that is to say, spark is not triggered. ▐

Apply Low Tension Method for Output Emission Energy

The conventional emission energy is more than 3500Vdc of HE tension, which generated high energy to create spark of high energy. The HE tension results in reduction of lifespan of spark plug and high-energy cable. The new design in low-tension method to improve the problem can generates 2500Voc creating much higher spark, and can increase the lifespan as reduced an effect to entire ignition system. ▐

Generates Spark 5 to 6 times a second

The conventional exciter had spark rating of 2 to 3 times a second, but it could not be enough to ignite well. The smart spark exciter, however, improves this issue, and is designed to trigger spark up to 5 to 6 time a second.

2) Spark Plug ▐

Pressurized Seal Structure

The conventional spark plug, which could not sustain against high pressure inside combustion chamber, used to leak hot gas, leading to negative effect to cable and exciter. To resolve this problem, Korea Engineering produced the pressurized seal structure able to enough sustain under 400 psi (approximately 28barg) pressure, and thereby has no hot gas leak through the igniter tip. Accordingly, this technology reduces more than 80% of potential damage on cable and exciter. ▐

Generating spark by the conventional air gap alone was not available in case of moisture and carbon being clogged the channel path of electricity flowing. And if the gap was widening a little bit in event of spark, it was main cause to fail ignition. To improve this issue, we employ new technology, which enable to trigger formidable spark at low voltage by inserting semiconductor between spark air gap. It is not in effect by moisture even under water. Especially the benefit of this technology is to generate same level of spark generated in combustion chamber of gas turbine and in air. ▐

Production of Various Connector Types Is Available.

Our thorough check and inspection on customer sites and installed products could be fundament base in technology to develop and produce a newly improved spark plug with various connector types identical to those of numerous spark plug importers ▐

Heat-Resistant Alloy For Edge of Tip (INCONEL601) Is Used.

The edge of the tip exposed to flame is turned out to be main factor in reduction of lifespan for spark plug. To complement this problem, it is designed to enhance the lifespan for spark plug by incorporating heatresistant alloy in the straight of 40 to 50mm in the edge of the tip.
