We focus on research that matters
The impact of science Science seeks truth and beauty beyond aesthetics, objectivity, and rationality. Beautiful science manifests itself in simplicity and consistency. Therefore, Kozminski University follows the lead of inseparable truth and beauty in research. Our business school always strives to do significant, influential research. To that end, we conduct applied research that matters – for those engaged in the changes we all witness, for the future of our society, and for civilization. Our research seeks to make an impact, especially in the areas of digitalization, artificial intelligence, modern entrepreneurship and leadership, sustainable development, but also in the fields of civilizational challenges, innovations, and social institutions and organizations. Our scholars grow their competences and skills by undertaking new and ever more ambitious scientific challenges. They form teams with specialists from various universities and countries who jointly work on the most pressing matters in need of scientific scrutiny. Let this guide support you in your first contact with Kozminski University, let it encourage you to pay us a visit, and let it inspire you to engage in cooperation with our scientists. Welcome to our research world.

Olha Zadorozhna holds a Ph.D. degree from Bocconi University. Her research interests link political, development, and financial economics. She studies the development of the land market in Ukraine for more than eight years, publishing extensively on topics connected to clientelism and the security of property rights for land. Throughout her research career, Zadorozhna has studied the stock market and investors’ sentiments by working in several research projects about the understanding of investors’ decisions related to banking, armed conflicts, and terrorism.

Kozminski University is a top university with international recognition and the Triple Crown accreditation, which attracted my attention. Since 2014, Kozminski University appeared to me as the best option to develop a fruitful learning dyad. I partake in the CoAffiliation Program organized between the Rennes School of Business and Kozminski University.

We care for the people
We remain in touch with our graduates and systematically strengthen these relationships by supporting their entrepreneurial abilities in the Kozminski Business Hub. We recognize their success on the market by awarding them Kozminski Lions. We support our students with outstanding academic and organizational achievements by the Kozminski Foundation. The Foundation’s scholarships do not depend on the students’ admission decisions or their rights to stay in Poland. We run hundreds of facultative open events available to our entire community – including a Kozminski University TEDx – to persistently fascinate people with knowledge. Right after the pandemic outbreak, we launched a fundraiser for a respirator for the Transfiguration Hospital in Warsaw, which operates in our immediate vicinity. Facing the necessity of isolation that results from the risk of coronavirus infection, we have supported the working and retired seniors of Kozminski University and other staff members at risk, who cannot expect their relatives to provide them with the needed care. As part of the “Students Help Students” and “Face Masks for the Health Care” actions, the student organization Kozminski International Society provided more than 70 free masks to the international students at our university and over 500 masks to the Transfiguration Hospital staff.

Sustainable development
Environment
We contribute to sustainable development by acting for Sustainable Development Goals. The SDGs are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. They address the global challenges we face, including poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, peace, and justice.
We have a positive impact on our environment.
Quality education Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all
Gender equality Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls
Partnerships for the goals Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development
21
Industry, innovation and infrastructure Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and foster innovation
Sustainable cities and communities Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable
Responsible consumption Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns
We are one of a few dozen universities recognized in the Business School Impact System – alongside EFMD, CEIBS, and HSG St. Gallen – an ecosystem of positive impact created by the European Foundation for Management Development. During the World Economic Forum in Davos (2020) the business community recognized the quality of our operations in the first edition of the Positive Impact Rating. In this ranking, we appeared as the only Polish university listed with 30 other business schools from around the world. We offer courses that respond to new challenges in the labor market. To that end, we educate data analysts and experts in artificial intelligence management, and we equip our finance and accounting students with the ability to work with the Bloomberg Terminal. Moreover, we prepare study programs in close cooperation with business. To meet the needs of McDonald’s Poland, we launched first-degree studies in the management of quick-service restaurants sector.
Digital innovation drives our teaching methods development. During classes, our educators use focus-measuring bands, trackers, 3D goggles and glasses. We use digital technologies as a didactic tool in project management, entrepreneurship, and finance classes. Future lawyers benefit from the educational video game we prepared for them, in which they use VR goggles to personally witness a crime scene. We cooperate with the European Space Agency within the ESA Lab platform. The key objective of this initiative is academic cooperation in research and the delivery of high-quality educational programs in subjects related to sustainable business projects and opportunities to entrepreneurs based on knowledge created by peaceful space exploration. We regularly promote our research results so that they can serve the broader public and diverse stakeholder groups.
