Membership Benefits Of The Keller Pointe Membership

Annual Memberships

Registering as a member is the best way to take advantage of all The Keller Pointe has to offer. Members have access to all non-instructional activities, fitness equipment, the running/walking track, gymnasium, indoor and outdoor aquatic centers, and locker room facilities.

To qualify for the Resident or Resident Business membership fee, your home or business must be located within Keller’s city limits and your property taxes must be paid to the City of Keller.

Monthly Memberships With a monthly membership, The Keller Pointe will automatically debit payments from your Master Card or Visa. Your membership to The Keller Pointe and monthly payments will automatically continue until you notify us, in writing, that you wish to discontinue your membership*. A $60 service fee is due when you register for your monthly membership. *Please see cancellation policy

Membership Definition of a Family A family constitutes at least one, no more than two, adult heads of household and up to four of his/her dependents that are 23 years of age or younger, in school, or living at home as a dependent. It also includes persons with special needs living as a single housekeeping unit at the same address.

Proof of Residency Present your driver’s license in order to confirm City of Keller residency for a Keller Pointe membership. A membership will not be issued without a valid driver’s license. Proof of residency is also required at time of renewal. For taxing jurisdictions visit www.tad.org.

Cancellation For those individuals choosing the monthly membership option, a 30-day written notice is required to discontinue the monthly membership. The $60 service fee is non-refundable. A service fee of $20 per returned payment may apply.

Medical Freeze In the event of a medical condition that prevents you from utilizing The Keller Pointe, members may freeze their membership for $10/month by providing a doctor’s statement. Once a doctor’s release is obtained to return to the facility, the membership will be reactivated for the length of time it was frozen. If a patron has a family membership and elects to freeze the membership, the entire family will be frozen. Medical freezes must take place within 30 days of the medical condition arising. Expired memberships are not eligible for medical freeze.

Annual Fee Non-Refundable For individuals choosing to purchase an annual membership by paying for one year in full, the membership is non-refundable with the exception of the 30-day Opt Out Period.

30-day Opt Out Period All annual members have 30 days from the date of purchase to request an annual fee refund. One month, at the monthly rate, and a $60.00 service charge will be deducted from the annual fee refund amount. After 30 days, no refund is available. Written notice required. Annual Fee Transfers

Individual or family annual members may transfer their annual membership to another individual or family. If the individual or family receiving the annual membership is a non-resident, the receiving party will be required to pay the difference between the resident annual membership fee and the non-resident annual fee. If a non-resident annual member is transferring their annual membership to a resident of the City of Keller, there is no refund for the price difference.

Inclement Weather Policy When lightning occurs, the indoor and outdoor pools will be closed. If we are unable to reopen after thirty (30) minutes, the pool(s) will remain closed and attempt to reopen later in the day. This policy is in effect until one hour prior to official closing time.

Rain Check Policy In the event of aquatic facility operation suspension due to inclement weather or maintenance, guest(s) may exchange their ticket for a rain check only if guest(s) have been present at the facility for less than two hours. Management reserves the right to suspend operation and/or close the facility at any time and initiate the rain check policy. If the indoor pool is able to stay open while the outdoor pool is closed, the rain check policy will not apply.

Stay ‘N Play Children should enjoy their experience at The Keller Pointe as much as their parents! Prior to working out or taking a class, check your children into the Stay ’N Play room where they can enjoy a wide variety of entertainment. Children, ages six months through nine years, may stay for a maximum of two hours at a cost of $2 per visit, per child. Bulk passes are also available to purchase for $30, good for 20 visits. Parents/guardians may not leave the building or outdoor pool while their child/children are in Stay ‘N Play. For policies, please inquire at the Customer Service Desk. *Stay ‘N Play passes are transferable but not refundable, and expire one year after initial purchase.

Break up your routine and bad habits and experience a new approach to your health. The Keller Pointe’s Personal Trainers will help you expand your knowledge of exercise and nutrition while discovering a new perspective on health.

(For the safety of our members & guests, children under the age of 14 are prohibited unless specified).

Personal Training Assessment Form completion required to ensure a customized personal training experience. Inquire at the Customer Service Desk to begin your journey towards personal fitness today!

• 24 hour cancellation required for all sessions • All sessions must be used within six months of purchase • All new clients purchasing an 8 or 24 training session package will recieve 1 free 45-minute Fitness Assessment prior to their first session. SPRING Break Camps Bowmen Dodgeball Camp (6-12 years)

Spring Adventure Camp: Leap Frog (6-11 years)

Our ultra-popular program that includes several versions of Dodgeball. The emphasis is on fun, teamwork and exercise. We play many different versions of the classic game using coated foam balls. These balls are perfect for safe and FUN play!

This week long-camp is all about jumping games as we spring in to fun. Enjoy Leap Frog outside, frog crafts indoors, and frog kicks in our warm pool. Then hop to Airborne Trampoline Park for our field trip.

Zen Bug Yoga During this stage of development, children are learning basic life skills, growing in their independence, seeking exploration and building relationships. Summer day camps Summer Adventure Camp (6-11 years) Explore 12 weeks of themes, activities, crafts, guests, and much more. Cool off every week by swimming and playing at our onsite waterpark. This full-day camp has fun themes to spark children’s creativity. Weekly schedules are available Monday of each new week. An afternoon snack is provided but please bring a non-refrigerated morning snack and sack lunch. Set Meal Plan available for an additional $25 a week. Camp Payment Terms: Payment for Summer Adventure Camp must be made in the month prior to camp start date. Any reservation made after the 15th must be paid in full. June Camps July Camps August Camps

Levels 1-4 (Ratio: 3-to-1) Swimmers learn water acclimation skills like blowing bubbles, going under water, floating, gliding, kicking, and streamlining. When swimmers graduate, they are able to float and glide unassisted, roll from stomach to back and back to stomach, complete a sitting dive, and streamline.

Levels 5-6 (Ratio: 4-to-1)

YOUTH

Swimmers are introduced to freestyle and backstroke, deep water skills like treading water, stroke drills, different types of kicking, and more advanced diving techniques. When swimmers graduate, they are able to dolphin and breaststroke kick, side breathe, swim freestyle for 12.5 yards, and tread water for 30 seconds.

Levels 7-8 (Ratio: 5-to-1)

Swimmers begin their more advanced skills and drills like bilateral breathing in freestyle, flip turns, and breaststroke. When swimmers graduate, they are able to swim 50 yards of freestyle with a flip turn, 25 yards of backstroke, breaststroke kick for 25 yards, and many other skills.

Levels 9-10 (Ratio: 5-to-1) Swimmers learn butterfly and a multitude of skills and drills that complete their learn-to-swim journey and prepare them to be lifelong swimmers and join our swim team. When swimmers graduate, they are able to swim all 4 strokes in order without stopping (100M), 200 yards of freestyle, 100 yards of backstroke, and 50 yards of breaststroke and butterfly.

Adult Beginner (Ratio: 3-to-1)

Adults who may have fear of the water and do not yet know how to swim. Will be taught all water acclimation, floating, gliding, kicking, rolling, and introductory freestyle skills. Adults who are making their transition in to deep water. Will strengthen their freestyle and Beginner 1 skills. Will learn basic backstroke and/or breaststroke to help with mobility.

Adult: Intermediate (Ratio: 5-to-1) Adults who are comfortable in shallow water but may not yet be comfortable in deep water. Aquatics Jeff Ellis & Associates Special Facilities Lifeguard Course (16+ years) The purpose of the Jeff Ellis & Associates Special Facilities Lifeguard Course is to provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies. This course will also provide the necessary training in order to operate an AED and Oxygen equipment. PARTICIPANTS MUST ATTEND ALL CLASSES PREREQUISITES: 1. 2. 3.

Must be 16 years of age on or before the final scheduled class date. Online prerequisites must be completed by the start of the first class. Swim 200 yards continuously demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing. Candidates may swim using the front crawl, breaststroke, or a combination of both. Swim goggles may be used. Candidates must be able to tread water continuously for 2 minutes using only their legs. Candidates must be able to perform a feet first surface dive and retrieve a 10-pound brick from a depth of 6 feet.

Athletics Girl’s Volleyball Leagues (8-14 years)

Perfect your skills in our Recreational Volleyball League as you get ready to try out for your local school team. Beginners are welcome. Teams have one practice a week and Saturday games will be played on. Participants who want their child to “play up” (older age division) must coach. The season runs from 3/28-5/16. VOLUNTEER COACHES ARE NEEDED FOR EACH TEAM. The City of Keller will drug screen and background check all coaches prior to practices beginning. Special requests must be included with registration. Any special requests given after the late registration deadline will not be observed. No requests are guaranteed.

These super-fun Saturday clinics are designed for a group of players of all ages, skills and abilities. They are all about fundamentals and basics, including instruction of ball handling, passing, shooting and footwork. Skills are taught in a fun, but intense way to develop confidence, balance and coordination. These are skill-based programs which utilize drills and games to reinforce skills being taught.

Soccer I: Techniques & Teamwork (5-6 years) Learn dribbling, passing, defense and shooting goals! Fun skill games are played at every sessions, and every participant will have a ball at his or her feet. Small-sided soccer matches will be introduced gradually. Perfect for first time players while being fun and engaging for kids with some experience. All participants receive a soccer jersey! Shin gards are required after the first meeting.

Contracts Contracts for all facility rentals and parties must be completed and signed at time of booking, along with payment.

Availability Bear Creek Rooms are available for rental from 5AM to 1AM. (Note: The building closes at 10PM Monday - Thursday, 9PM Friday, 8PM Saturday, and 6PM Sunday after which extended hour fees will apply). The contract, deposit, and half the rental must be paid at the time of booking. The remaining balance is due thirty (30) days prior to the rental. Rental times include setup & cleanup access time.

Deposits

A security deposit of $250* is required on facility rentals, along with the completion of The Keller Pointe Facility Reservation contract and 50% of overall rental fee. The security deposit will be refunded if the area used has been left in good order and all conditions of the contract have been met. *An additional $250 deposit for alcohol consumption and/or teenage event is required, along with the cost and scheduling of a Keller Police Officer on site during the event. The Renter is responsible for scheduling the Keller Police Officer. All rentals are a minimum of 2 hours.

Extended Hours Fee An extended hours fee of $15.00 per hour will apply to all facility rentals extending past the regular building operating hours.

Cancellation Policy for All Facility Rentals A written cancellation notice signed by the applicant must be received at least thirty (30) days prior to the scheduled event in order for Renter to receive a full refund minus a $25 service charge. A forfeiture of the reservation fee will result if the Renter fails to provide a thirty (30) day written notice.

Program Registration Where to Register Participants may register for all classes, activities, programs, and events in person at The Keller Pointe during operational hours, over the phone, or online at www.thekellerpointe.com.

Class Locations The location for all classes, activities, programs, and events are at The Keller Pointe unless otherwise noted.

Registration Information Participants are encouraged to register for classes as early as possible. Registration deadline is Friday before class begins (unless otherwise noted). Registrations are on a first-come, first-served basis. *Minimum age is determined by the first day of the selected course.

Class Makeup Policy

If it is necessary to cancel a class because of inclement weather, The Keller Pointe Customer Service staff will notify all participants at least one hour before class is scheduled to begin when possible. You may call The Keller Pointe at 817.743.4FUN. If a swim lesson is cancelled, The Keller Pointe aquatic staff will contact you within 24 hours to reschedule. Any group class missed will not be made up.

Class Refund or Transfer Policy

When a class is cancelled due to low enrollment or other circumstances, you will be offered a transfer to another class or receive a full refund. Participant initiated refunds and transfers will only be granted when a participant: a) submits a transfer or refund request at least 5 business days prior to the starting date of the course; b) moves from the area and notifies The Keller Pointe at least 5 business days prior to the course start date; or c) becomes ill or injured, in which case a doctor’s statement must be presented upon request. If a refund/transfer is not requested to be applied to Keller Pointe merchandise or program within 90 days, the refund/ transfer will be forfeited.

Safety Procedure

In order to keep our facility safe, any patron possessing a weapon, or object determined by The Keller Pointe staff to pose a potential threat to persons or property, will be denied admission and/or required to leave the premises without refund. The Keller Pointe staff may, at any point, contact the Keller Police Department to assist in the enforcement of this procedure.

Inclement Weather Policy Lightning poses a serious risk of injury in our aquatic facilities, including the indoor facilities. Due to the seriousness of this issue, the following inclement weather policy applies for all aquatic facilities: When lightning occurs, the pools will be closed. If the lightning and inclement weather continues for more than thirty minutes, the pools will remain closed and The Keller Pointe staff will attempt to reopen the pools later in the day. This policy is in effect until one hour prior to the facility’s official closing time.

Aquatic Training

Please be advised that The Keller Pointe lifeguards take part in active training during operating hours. In the event there is a training exercise, the aquatic staff will notify all patrons.

A Word to Parents... The Keller Pointe staff strives to maintain the highest standards in emergency training. Our goal is to provide patrons with a safe and clean atmosphere in which families can enjoy themselves in a recreational environment. The purpose of the staff is not to supervise your child, but to prevent accidents from happening. Therefore, parents are expected to closely supervise their children and assist in enforcing the facility’s policies for the safety and enjoyment of all patrons. All children, ages nine years and under, must be accompanied and supervised, at all times, by a paying adult (at least 16 years or older).

Photography Policy

Photographs and video are occasionally taken of participants and are used to promote our City Parks and Recreation Programs. If you prefer that you or your child not be photographed, please notify the photographer.

Know before you go The Keller Pointe is a multi-use recreation family friendly facility in which a wide variety of services, programs, and events are conducted to enhance the morale and welfare of all Keller Pointe members, employees, authorized visitors, and the local community. In addition, the following general information sets forth expectations for all participants and visitors who use the facility for any purpose. It is the responsibility of the participant or vis itor to review the all of the policies, rules, and code of conduct. Copies are available on request or can be found online at www.TheKellerPointe.com No refunds will be given for loss of privileges due to a final determination of the violation. All participants and visitors are encouraged to report any violation to a The Keller Pointe staff member immediately. As needed, the Keller Police Department may be called at any time to administer policy, rules, and code of conduct.

General Policies: • Act with courtesy and professionalism at all times. • Comply with requests and direction from The Keller Pointe staff, officials, instructors, and facilitators who are acting in the performance of their duties. • Comply with any policy, rules, and code of conduct set forth for the facility, program, event or class. • Wear appropriate family-friendly attire, including swim wear where applicable; shirts and shoes are required at all times outside the locker rooms (unless specified by The Keller Pointe management). Non-marking athletic shoes are required on the fitness floor, track, gymnasium, activity room and aerobic room. • Tobacco, food, chewing gum, glass bottles, and cans are prohibited on the fitness floor, track, gymnasium, and aerobic room. Plastic water bottles are acceptable. • You risk losing your facility membership if your card/membership is used by anyone other than yourself and/or you fail to comply with the stated policy, rules, and code of conduct. • Lockers are for daily use only. The Keller Pointe personnel will reset all locks at the end of each day. • The Keller Pointe is not responsible for damaged, lost or stolen property. • All coolers are subject to inspection by The Keller Pointe staff.

Participants must refrain from the following: • Rude, aggressive, lewd, obscene or indecent conduct/expression and behavior in any form including physical abuse, verbal abuse, threats, intimidation, harassment, bullying, coercion, profanity, and/or conduct which threatens or endangers the health or safety of any person. • Disrupting or obstructing any program, event, or class. The use of or solicitation of illegal drugs or drug paraphernalia while on the premises. • Any action which constitutes an attempt to inflict, or the actual infliction of, or injury to other participants and/or staff. • Willful damage or destruction to the facility or property. • Unauthorized entry to areas to restricted areas or equipment. • Photography and videotaping in member or day pass areas of the facility without prior approval of The Keller Pointe and/or the participants being photographed or taped. • Unauthorized commercial activity - no person is allowed to post, advertise, instruct in private lessons, or solicit individuals in the facility for personal services or for personal businesses that are not directly affiliated and approved through The Keller Pointe.

Fitness & Weight Floor: • YOU MUST BE 16 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER TO BE ON OR USE THE FITNESS FLOOR without adult supervision. • Children, strollers, carriers, etc. are prohibited from the fitness floor, weight area, and track. • To use the fitness center without adult supervision you must be at least 16 years of age. • Teens 13-15 years of age may be allowed to use the fitness center equipment under direct parental supervision. This includes the parent ensuring the child is appropriately using the equipment, that the child is using proper body mechanics, being courteous to other members and following all other fitness floor and facility rules and regulation. • Teens 16-17 years of age may be allowed to use the fitness center equipment by having a parent or legal guardian sign a liability waiver.

Track: • YOU MUST BE 13 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER TO BE ON OR USE THE TRACK without adult supervision. • Children under 13 years of age MUST be under direct adult (16 years of age or older) supervision, that includes the adult ensuring the child is being courteous to members and following all other track and facility rules and regulations. • Strollers, carriers, etc. are prohibited from the track at all times.

Gymnasium: • Children, 9 and under, must be directly supervised by those 16 years of age or older. • Open gym schedules can change at little notice due to availability, leagues, and programs. • Basketballs/volleyballs may be checked out at the front desk. A valid Keller Pointe membership card or picture identification is required in order to checkout any equipment. Failure to return the equipment may result in additional charges. • Dunking or hanging on the rim is prohibited.

Aquatic Facilities: • Children, 9 and under, must be directly supervised by those 16 years of age or older wearing a swimsuit. • All swimmers must be wearing an appropriate family friendly swimsuit. • Shower with soap and rinse thoroughly before entering the pool. • Coast Guard approved life vest only. • Use of, including but not limited to, water wings, toys, facemask that cover the nose, personal toys including rafts, inner tubes, balls, or Frisbees and small rings are strictly prohibited. • All coolers are subject to inspection by The Keller Pointe staff. • For sanitary reason, all clothing and diaper changes must be made in the family changing room or locker rooms.

Spa/Hot Tub: Children under 13 years of age are prohibited from using the spa. The maximum recommended time limit for spa use is 15 minutes. No oil-based products. CAUTION: If you are pregnant, have high blood pressure or are on medications, consult your physician prior to use. • No more than 13 people in spa at a time. • All General Pool Rules apply. • • • •

Lap Lanes: • Lap lanes are for continuous lap swimming; please use proper lap swim etiquette. • Hanging, sitting, or climbing on lap lines, railings, or safety ropes is prohibited. • Please consult the pool schedule for lap swim availability.

A person must be 42" in height to ride indoor waterslide and 48" in height to ride outdoor slides. All eyewear and floatation devices must be removed. Only one person at a time may ride. Ride feet first only, sitting up or lying down. Riders must exit the catch pool quickly. Parents are not allowed to catch children at the bottom of the slide.

Enforcement: The Code of Conduct and Rules and Regulations of The Keller Pointe will be enforced by the staff, officials, instructors, and facilitators whose authority shall prevail in the immediate situation. If a violation occurs with a city employee, the immediate supervisor of the employee will be notified. If a violation occurs with a contractor employee, the contractor’s human resources office will be notified. The following actions may be taken for violations of the Code of Conduct and/or Rules & Regulations: Violations of the code that do not constitute an immediate and apparent threat to the safety of others or their property will result in all or some of the following actions, including, but not limited to: • Verbal warning • A suspension of certain and/or all privileges for a specified period of time • A permanent suspension Violations of the code and/or rules that are deemed to constitute an immediate or implied threat to the safety of others or their property, and/or the safety of the facility or property may result in the following actions, including, but not limited to: • A one to six month suspension • A six to twelve month suspension • A permanent suspension

Failure to adhere to any of the above rules, regulations, and policies will result in immediate removal from The Keller Pointe. Serious violations will result in suspension or termination of annual, monthly, or daily pass.
