“Releasing the Power for Effective 21st Century Ministry”
Where do we as ministry leaders go from here? What challenges do we face as the body of Christ to be effective in the 21st Century? There are several models that have been designed in order to help pastors and lay leaders engage their present contexts and find creative strategies to help ministries remain relevant. Churches are struggling with releasing practices that are currently ineffective and unproductive. In order to counteract this present-day challenge, leaders must find ways to re-examine and re-shape their current ministries to be released to do church differently and allow the power of God to transform what is no longer effective into a vital and healthy congregation. POWER PREACHING (Clergy) Dr. Robert Smith
“But he (Jesus) answered, “It is written, ‘one does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ (Matthew 4:4)” While Jesus was in the wilderness, he survived because of the Word. Preaching allows for engagement of one’s social implications, whether they are in a “wilderness” context or not, with the biblical narrative in order to convict, convert and challenge the people of God. The preacher must be filled with power in order to access prophetic gifts that will create a change for persons who need to hear the Word. This preaching workshop is designed to provide skills and resources for those who will take up the mantle to help others survive.
This workshop is based on discovering and employing spiritually gifted servants/leaders to take the seven functions of the church to higher levels of effectiveness.
The Power to Love
The Reverend Samuel L. Green, Jr. The Reverend Neichelle Guidry Jones The process to finding true love and happiness in relationships can be troubling for those who have experienced loss and heartache. Yet, the quest to be loved and to be in love is a desire that so many wish to attain. If you have been scarred by failed attempts at relationships or the pain that smears from a broken heart, this workshop is for you? If you are seeking healing as you choose to love again, this workshop is for you? If you are struggling with allowing yourself to truly love another person, this workshop is for you. The Prayer of Humiliation........................................................................Presiding Elder Roger Alford The Preface to the Decalogue..............................................................The Reverend Dr. Hazel Linton From all that dwell below the skies, Let the Creator’s praise arise; Let the Redeemer’s name be sung, Through every land, by every tongue. The Summary Of The Decalogue And He said to Him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And the second is like it, you shall love your neighbour as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the law and the prophets. The Gloria Patri Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. A-men, A-men.
