The wilderness can be translated as an uninhabited or scarcely inhabited and wild terrain, which seems to be considerably challenging to navigate. Not your typical place of relaxation and piece of heaven. Therefore, a wilderness is often synonymous to a desert, forest, or mountainous area which are all terrains that need expert skill and effort to traverse. It’s the most nerve-wrecking experience to explore a territory that’s unpredictable and filled with creatures that might attack.

Jesus has the ability to address the person and not the problem. Even though this man was characterized by his issue, Jesus had the ability to see him for who he was.
In verse six Jesus asked the man if he wanted to get well. The man then responded by saying that he had always struggled to get in the water because he has no one to help him. Many times, we too are like this man. When Jesus asks us a question we respond with an excuse and not an answer. In the same way, we sometimes think that there are certain things we first have to do before we can receive healing. We desire to find healing in the things of this world. Telling ourselves “If I could only do this or that” all will be well. When the truth is, that Jesus is all you need.
Our trust is in Jesus Christ who is the living water that heals all our iniquities regardless of the period of time we have been struggling with them. Many times, we ask ourselves “When will God heal me? When will He see my suffering?” However, maybe the question has not been “Will I ever be healed?” but rather “Do I want to be healed?” JOHN 16:7

HELP IS NOT ON THE WAY

Justin Wessels
One of my favourite personal scriptures is found in John 16 verse 7 where Jesus is telling the disciples about the Holy Spirit and how important it is that He (Jesus) must leave in order for Him (Holy Spirit) to come… now let’s pause for just a minute if I was in John’s or Peter’s shoes I would be asking Jesus this question “why would you have to leave?” I mean, come on, just think about it… here’s the best thing that’s ever happened to mankind!

What these two verses imply, my fellow millennials, is that we do in fact have a choice between activities in the here and now that may lead to greater earthly reward and those that store up greater heavenly reward. We find examples within the Gospels of the repercussions of making the wrong choice, which proves to be eternally disastrous (see Mark 8:36; Luke 12:20-21).

his issue’s spotlight feature goes to none other than the newly crowned Miss SA 2020, Shudufhadzo Musida. Musida was crowned queen of the country on 24 October 2020 and
has clearly pronounced dedicating her reign towards being an advocate for education and economic empowerment, with mental health awareness as the key foundation. The confident and graceful beauty is a university graduate, holding a Bachelor of Social Science degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics and is currently completing an Honour’s degree in International Relations. In her speech, Shudufhadzo boldly and unapologetically confesses of the power and plan of God and is an avid believer in breathing life into words and dreams. Prior to the pageant, Shudufhadzo had never participated in any beauty pageant and pays high tributes to her predecessor, Zozibini Tunzi for curating this moment for her. The country is already inspired by this Limpopo queen and we look on eagerly to witness the manifestations of her 2020/2021 reign.
