STONEHENGE JOHN'S BLOG

There are many stone circles in Britain, but the most famous is Stonehenge. Our guidebook (1)said that it (2)wasn’t very far from London. So when we visited the UK last summer, we (3)took a coach there and it (4) was awesome! Stonehenge is over 5,000 years old, but people (5)didn’t start studying the stones until the 1660s. Nobody could agree on where the stones (6)came from, who (7) built the circle or why. According to the legend, Irish giants (8)travelled to Africa to look for the stones. Then they (9)carried them back to Ireland. In the 5th century, the wizard Merlin (10)helped King Aurelius Ambrosius move the stones from Ireland to Salisbury Plain in England. Another great story is that aliens (11)used the area to land their spacecraft.

Now, there are two main types of people. Some believe that Stonehenge (12)was a place for religion, but others think people (13)watched the sun, moon, and stars from there. It doesn't matter to me because it's a very cool place.

I translated a few words to help me understand the new topic better already . Yesterday, I read an article on language learning and found it very useful. In the last lesson, there were some mistakes in the exercises. I have already corrected them and then I made a new list for us to review. Please look over the list and let me know what you think.

There are six different kinds of sushi, but rice (6) is used in all of them. This special sushi rice (7) is boiled and then sushi vinegar, which has salt and sugar, (8) is added. Sheets of seaweed (9) are covered with this cooked rice. And now comes the fun part where ingredients (10) are chosen. Fish and vegetables (11)are prepared by cutting them into small pieces. They (12) are put on top of the rice but they (13) aren’t cooked first. Next, the seaweed, with the rice, fish and vegetables, (14) is rolled tightly. Finally, the sushi roll (15) is cut into slices. But a very sharp knife (16) is needed for this!
