2016 POOL TAGS The 2016 Pool season starts on the weekend of May 14th and follow the season year, closing on Sunday, September 11th. Pool tags will be available Saturday, May 7th, 9 AM to noon, Wednesday, May 11th, 7-9 PM and Saturday, May 14th, 9 AM to noon. We will be using the Orange pool tags again this year and the 2016 stickers will be free to residents that are current with their HOA dues. Pool Tags will be sold for $5 each. Each pool tag will allow 4 people to get in the pool. If you miss our sessions, stickers and tags will be available at PCMI. PCMI does have a $5 handling fee. We ask residents to have a picture ID when they get their tags.
PLEASE, NO SOCCER PLAYING AT RECREATION AREA For several reasons, the soccer goals in the recreation area were removed last year. The area was designed for a playground, the swimming pool and clubhouse, a volleyball court and the tennis courts. Unfortunately soccer playing, with or without the nets, had caused a disturbance to some of our neighbors whose yards back up to the recreation area, especially in the evening hours. Moreover “enthusiastic play” caused damage to the fences resulting in expensive repairs. Each time a broken fence picket had to be removed, then a new one purchased, stained and installed. It was not a big job, but time consuming and costly. The grassy area also was becoming very worn to the point where soon it may have had to be re-sodded. We also had many complaints about soccer being played on the tennis court, causing damage to the tennis nets and preventing residents from peacefully using the courts for tennis. Finally, as has been a problem with our other recreation facilities, we found non-residents using our property for playing soccer. Our sheriff deputy patrols are assisting us when we can identify trespassers. We want our own residents to have access and enjoyment of our recreation facilities for their intended purposes.
MANY PAIRS OF EYES A Sheriff’s deputy has only one pair of eyes. But together, Berkshire residents have a couple of thousand eyes. So when you see any suspicious activity, please call the Sheriff’s Department non-emergency number at 713-2216000 immediately and provide as many details as possible. For emergencies call 911. And please cooperate with law enforcement officers after the fact to help convict criminals. Remember, for a safe community crime prevention is a cooperative effort.
