SUMMER ACTIVITIES

Would you like to see additional activities in our neighborhood? We would love to have things for our families, but without assistance it is not possible. The Board of Directors members all have full time jobs or other family obligations that take up much of our time. We are an unpaid voluntary Board with the interest of Concord Bridge at heart. If you have ideas for neighborhood activities, get volunteers to help and present your ideas to the Board. We will back legitimate activities to unite with our neighbors. There were several people at the annual meeting that advised they would assist in activities. We encourage you to step forward with your ideas and volunteers to assist.

We will have movie nights in the park again this year. Watch for information in the Crier and on the marquees.

YARD OF THE MONTH Yard of the month judging begins in May. There are over 1,600 homes in Concord Bridge. It’s an overwhelming task to select the best yards without repeatedly choosing the same homes. If there is a home that you feel deserves this honor, please submit the address for consideration. You can call Tally at Preferred Management Services or a Board Member and give her the address and the information will be forwarded to the appropriate persons.

DEED RESTRICTIONS Deed restrictions are in place to maintain continuity within the neighborhood. Without these standards, a home could be left in disrepair or abandoned and could become a plight to our neighborhood. At entrances to the neighborhood, there are signs declaring deed restrictions are strictly enforced and when you purchased the home you were given a copy of the deed restrictions. Please remember, this is a legal document in place to protect the value of your home.

In order to maintain our values it is mandatory that everyone makes the necessary repairs, remove the mildew and/or paint as needed. Inoperable vehicles are to be repaired or removed. Covering them with covers or tarps does not change the fact that they are not in compliance with the deed restrictions. Motorized vehicles cannot be parked in the yard or on your porch. Preferred Management handles most of the business transactions for Concord Bridge under the direction of your Board of Directors. If you don’t understand any correspondence from Preferred Management, please call for clarification. The homeowners association pays for all correspondence related to deed restrictions, therefore duplicate letters cost you and me additional fees. Do not ignore correspondence from Preferred Management!

HARRIS COUNTY ALARM PERMIT A permit is required for all alarms in Harris County. Obtaining the required permit will avoid the issuance of a citation and excessive false alarm fees. The permit application can be downloaded from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office website at www.hcso.hctx.net and click on forms. The application should be

completed and mailed with the appropriate fees to the address shown on the application. A new permit will cost $35 and annual renewals are $10. Should you have any questions, please contact the Alarm Detail office at 713-755-4600 during normal business hours.

CONCORD BRIDGE PETS Have you lost a pet or found a dog or cat? You can contact the Concord Bridge Pet Hotline at 281-468-9414 and on the Facebook account, www.facebook. com/#!/Concordbridgehotline. You can use this source to report lost and found animals. This has been a great help in returning lost and found animals to their owners. Even if you don’t have access to Facebook, you can call 281-468-9414. It is far more efficient than posting illegal signs all over the neighborhood. Harris County requires that all pets be on a leash or confined within your yard. Unleashed dogs are a nuisance to your neighbors and other pets. Please pick up all dog waste and dispose of it properly. Remember, our children play in the park areas and their yards. It’s very inconsiderate of you to allow your dog to defecate if others yards and the parks. When walking your dogs, please be prepared to remove any waste they may leave behind.

BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA - COPPERHEAD DISTRICT

For 100 years, Scouting programs have instilled in youth the values found in the Scout Oath and Scout Law. Today, these values are just as relevant in helping youth grow to their full potential as they were in 1910. Scouting helps youth develop academic skills, self-confidence, ethics, leadership skills, outdoor skills and citizenship skills that influence their adult lives. The Boy Scouts of America provides youth with programs and activities that allow them to: • Try new things. • Provide service to others. • Build self-confidence. • Reinforce ethical standards.

April 2016

Scouting provides youth with a sense that they are important as individuals while promoting activities that lead to personal responsibility and high self-esteem. As a result, when hard decisions have to be made, peer pressure can be resisted and the right choices can be made.

“I’m In PAIN” Can Chiropractic Help ME ?

We are often asked, “What’s the best way of finding out whether or not a doctor of chiropractic can help my problem?” We believe the answer can be found in a complete chiropractic consultation and examination, including x-rays. And to help find out for sure, we will do a complete consultation and examination, including x-rays, if necessary, (procedures that normally cost $187.00 or more) for $25.00. We will make this special program available through April. The only exception to the offer involves personal injury cases (workers’ compensation and auto accidents) in which there is no charge directly to the patient.

Told with props, set and costumes, “Blast Off!” tells the story about kids who dream of being astronauts, traveling through space and learning of God the Creator’s marvelous creation. With help from various stars, planets, a cantankerous robot and the wise and patient Flight Commander, Mr. Houston, they learn that the God who created the stars and the heavens is the same God who loved the world so much that He sent His son to die for them, wants to have a relationship with them and with Him nothing is impossible.
