The perimeter fences around the community belong to the homeowners. It is the homeowner’s responsibility to maintain, repair and replace the fence as needed. Perimeter fencing must be put back to its original installation style and may not vary to other styles. Fencing that is shared with neighbors should also be maintained, repaired and replaced as needed. Neighbors should communicate with each other and share in the cost of replacement. Any modifications to the fencing around your property (including adding a rot board) must be approved by the Association first. Bear Creek Meadows owners may obtain the necessary form from the website at www.preferredmgt.com/bearcreekmeadows.

Garage Sales: Villages of Bear Creek will have two Garage Sales each year. One will be held in April and October, second Saturday, if it rains, it will be held the next Saturday, 8 AM-1 PM. This will be posted on message board and will post a sign. This is to take the place of all other garage sales and adhere to the law, if having more than two would be considered running a business and littering our corners with signs that never get taken down and from other neighborhoods. Shrubs, Flowers and groundcovers - Trim all shrubs/plants at least 12” - 18” back from your home. Do your best to create a plant free zone that is 18” - 24” wide around your home. The exception is your lawn - it can grow up next to the slab as long as you keep it 4” - 6” below the top of the slab. The most conducive to termite infestation are groundcover plantings, growing high against your homes exterior or (especially) ivy that grows on your walls. Trees - Spray your trees at least twice annually. The spring spray eliminates overwintering pests and fungi while preparing trees to resist the pest onslaught of summer with residual pesticides. The fall spray also kills pests from the summer, prevents most fungi from occurring over the winter and puts your valuable asset off to a healthy winter’s dormancy.

Mulch - If possible, buy Bagged Mulch. Bagging helps eliminate a great many pests that die from various causes while in the bag. When you buy ‘loose’ mulch that is trucked to your home, you are also buying ants, roaches, termites, etc… Spend a little more on bagged material and save lots of future pest problems. Keep your mulch at least 4” - 6” below the top of your homes exposed foundation edge/side. This will aid in minimizing pests in your home and allow for quick and accurate termite inspections.

INGREDIENTS: 1 cup white sugar 2 tablespoons cornstarch 1 cup water 4 tablespoons lemon flavored Jell-O® mix 4 cups fresh blueberries 1 (9 inch) prepared graham cracker crust DIRECTIONS: In a medium saucepan, mix together the sugar and cornstarch. Pour in water and bring to a full boil. Turn off heat and add in gelatin; stir until completely dissolved. Let cool. When mixture is cooled fold in blueberries. Cypress Woods High School AFJROTC was chosen to Present the Colors and the Missing Man Table and Honors Ceremony. Tina Clinkenbeard, CFISD Teacher, sang the National Anthem. State Representative Allen Fletcher gave the invocation and Senior Ryan Lancaster, from Cy-Fair High School, played TAPS. Kevin “Dauber” Lacz, former Navy SEAL sniper and combat medic was our guest speaker for the evening. Lacz spoke from the heart about his experiences as a Navy SEAL and the impact his service in the military had on his life. As a Certified Physician Assistant, Lacz uses his past experiences to facilitate his work in medicine and charity and actively seeks to support service members and veterans in his community. Lacz inspired us all with his motivational story, winning attitude and continued commitment to service. Joe Myers Ford Lincoln generously underwrote this year’s Salute to Our Heroes Gala and we are grateful that they have agreed to underwrite this event in 2017. Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Hospital and North Cypress Medical Center were Major General Sponsors this year. Salute to Our Heroes has raised more than half a million dollars over the past eight years, funding several endowed scholarships for students graduating from the Cypress Fairbanks ISD. CFEF was established in 1970 as a non-profit to raise money to fund a scholarship for high school graduates in the area. Over the past 46 years, the Foundation has grown tremendously through the efforts of the Board of Trustees and the generosity of the Cy-Fair Community. The Foundation has awarded more than $6 million in scholarships to 1,300 graduating seniors. CFEF is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, all contributions are tax deductible, as allowed by the law.
