Overview: A versatile taste of prairie and woods will delight your feet and your senses. If you park at the lot off of Hwy 67, come into the trail and veer left first. This will take you on a nice windy rich soil dirt path. The path traverses the creek ... stay quiet and listen to the natural serenade that it brings. The dirt ends and a beautiful boardwalk (made entirely by hard working volunteers) wanders you through a lush prairie bursting with life. Look for deer and rabbits and see how many species of birds you can count. At dusk or dawn you may hear or see a coyote. Eventually you will see a woods to the left .. the trails in there will wind you through a wooded gallery of beauty. You enter from and exit to prairie where the trails lead you once again. Follow the trail to the left and across the road and to the left just slightly. Reconnect in a prairie portion that feels wonderful and boggy underfoot. At the end a narrow trail takes you to the right and exits at the second parking lot. Cut across and to the boardwalk which will lead you to more boggy areas (with boardwalks). Head left after the boggy area to get back to the parking lot or continue on and explore the other trails that travel the Kishwauketoe Conservancy! Enjoy! Points of Interest
