Dean’s Advisory Council Update Good afternoon, College of Education Dean’s Advisory Council Members, I hope this message finds you all well and enjoying the upcoming start of summer! We just celebrated another successful commencement ceremony where we graduated a wonderful group of undergraduate, masters and doctoral students and we could not be prouder of them. We are looking forward to welcoming you to our next Dean’s Advisory Council board meeting next Thursday, May 21st at 4:30pm here in the College of Education Dean’s Conference Room IZEB 320). Joining our upcoming meeting will be Mr. Steven Schwartz, Executive Director, Estate and Planned Giving, to provide an overview about how financial planning can benefit by devoting a segment of one’s assets to the charitable industry as a financial investment can positively impact ones’s financial future while leaving their legacy and supporting FIU. Following Steve’s presentation, we will have an open agenda for brainstorming ideas pertaining to our fundraising goals and strategic initiatives. The goal of this meeting will be to come away with actionable tasks in like with our strategic priorities. Please see the following announcements in lieu of a formal report in our upcoming meeting, and feel free to let us know if there are questions or clarifications requested. We are anticipating an exciting and spirited discussion for our May 21st meeting and we look forward to seeing you there!

<pace004@fiu.edu>;

Good morning everyone and Happy Monday! I wanted to reach out to you as sponsors, colleagues and friends who have volunteered and supported the 6th Annual FIU College of Education Golf Scramble on March 27th, 2015. You may recall that due to your collective efforts and generosity, we were able to raise an unprecedented $37k additionally for the Faculty Scholarship Endowment in the College of Education. Because of you, we well surpassed our goal of $25k for the event and will be able to double the amount of scholarships that are awarded each year. Thank you again for your incredible support of our student scholars. Last week, the FIU College of Education was honored by University Advancement with the Transformer Award! In describing our advancement efforts over the last year, the golf tournament was mentioned as having grown significantly during FY'14! This is an incredible feat for the College and we are so proud to share this accomplishment with all of you!

We have a great upward momentum going and I am positively anticipating a great FY'15. Thank you for everything you do for the College of Education at FIU and the future educators and professionals in Miami‐Dade. So, please come by my office and visit my newest, coolest toy and let's CELEBRATE! Here are a few links with all of the information about the golf tournament!
