L’EXODE DE FOND-DES-BLANCS Fond-des-Blancs, Haiti_25,000 SF_Fall 2014 Currently in the rural city of Fond-des-Blancs, Haiti there is a small preschool of nearly 3,000 SF holding 350 children. The preschool currently utilizes the church on site for extra classroom space. The community is in need of a new preschool that creates a better learning environment, accommodates 350 children in addition to a daycare and a cafeteria to support nutritional values. Given the condition of Haiti, we use sustainable strategies to design a preschool that educates children and also benefits the community to improve their current quality of life. In collaboration with: Hannah Daniel + Gus Carodine

ORTHOPAEDIC CLINIC Knoxville TN_13,000 SF_Spring 2014 The design of Tennessee Orthopaedic Clinics new clinic creates a positive experience for the doctors, staff, and patients while sustaining the TOC brand. The clinic includes patient examination, administrative offices, and the design of an outpatient physical therapy center. The organization of spaces influenced by the different user’s circulation create an efficient work place for the staff and a comforting and supportive environment for the patients during their process of recovery. In collaboration with: Manila Bui + Julia McClintic

S.E.E.E.D. COMMUNITY CENTER Knoxville TN_3,000 SF_Spring 2014 S.E.E.E.D. is a non-profit organization in Knoxville that gives under-privileged young adults the experience and training of career development while promoting sustainability. Their community center is in need of renovation with the addition of a computer lab. We provide the owner with sustainable design options, with the goal of creating a space that is inviting and beneficial to the community with a fast-pace design charette. In collaboration with: John Ballentine + Juliet Harlow + Coleen O’leary

SEQUOYAH HILLS RESIDENCE Knoxville TN_3,500 SF_Spring 2013 This project is a residence that is located in Sequoyah Hills on the Tennessee River. The design process began with the research of the natural system, water, which influenced the design concept. Like a river that opens up into a larger body of water, the home has narrow hallways that open into large gathering spaces. The design creates a fluid open space with curved walls along the entry that open into the main public areas and glass exterior walls. The design continues to embrace the pure, fluid, and transparent qualities of water throughout the aesthetics of the home.

INTERTWINING OFFICE Austin TX_8,000 SF_Fall 2013 The INTERTWINING OFFICE was designed under Steelcase’s “NEXT Student Design Competition.” The objective was to design a new office space for the company NEXT. Using products from the Steelcase Inc. portfolio, the goal was to design an interior office environment of the future that incorporates the principles of an Interconnected Workplace. The project required designing the brand of NEXT along with a logo for the company. The inspiration for the design of NEXT’s new office is INTERCONNECTIVITY. Interconnecting the four main tasks: COLLABORATING_FOCUSING_SOCIALIZING_LEARNING. Each of these tasks are represented by a plane that are INTERTWINED within each other throughout the space, creating an efficient and collaborative work environment.

R E [ FA B R I C ] A T I O N _ D e c 2 0 1 3 In the color theory course, a pattern was designed based on the 10 main colors used to make up the color histogram of Monet’s “Cliff Walk at Pourville”. As a whole, the class had their patterns fabricated into a textile and came up with the design of the exhibit featured in the downtown studio gallery.

Home & Garden Show_Feb 2014

The Intertwining Office was selected to showcase in the downtown studio exhibit as one of the five Steelcase’s NEXT Student Design Competition projects.

Features both, the Intertwining Office and the fabric from color theory.
