Paw Prints Winter Holidays
December 19: 11AM Dismissal December 22, 2014 - January 4 January 5: First Day of 2nd Semester
On December 11th, Bluff Park will celebrated its 90th birthday! This is just another sign of how strong the Bluff Park Community has been and continues to be. Ninety years ago, the community recognized how important an education was and started a school. This was during a time when schools were few and far between. Bluff Park Elementary has grown from the one-room schoolhouse to now serve a student population of 656. I can only imagine how great the school will be on its 100th birthday! On December 19th, the school year will be half way completed. I’m sure the kindergartners feel like they have been in school forever, but to me the time has flown by. The semester break is a great time to evaluate how the year is going. Talk with your child about how they are doing in school. Make plans with them on how to have a strong second half. Also, keep your child busy during the holiday. They are many great places to go see in the Birmingham Metro area. The zoo, McWain Science Center and Oak Mountain Park are just a few of the great places to go. Doing some reading and math work wouldn’t hurt either. On behalf of the faculty and staff of Bluff Park, please have a great and safe holiday. Friday, December19th is the last day before the break. Students will be dismissed at 11AM. Lunch will NOT be served, but you can pre-order a sack lunch if needed. Students return on Monday, January 5th.
