The Arts Advanced Contemporary
Boys Ballet
Contemporary is a postmodern form of dance that rebels against the rigid rules of Classical Ballet and Modern. By nature, it's movements and shapes are pedestrian in nature, but it also incorporates forms of ballet, modern and jazz. Advanced dancers, along with teens and adults will explore the process of turning emotions into a 3D artform, relying on shapes created by their own training and experience. We welcome seasoned professionals and new dancers alike to this class, where focus is on the individual, rather than a group of matching dancers.
Our newest program at Kroc Dance Academy centers around helping boys develop their own dance technique, separate from the girls. Mr. Django brings his years of expertise as a professional male dancer to KDA and makes these classes fun and inviting for boys needing a creative outlet for energy. Young boys will develop athletic skills, motor intelligence, balance, flexibility, and strength that also translates well to other sports. Min. 6; Max. 9.

Contemporary is a postmodern form of dance that rebels against the rigid rules of Classical Ballet and Modern. By nature, it's movements and shapes are pedestrian in nature, allowing everyone access to the art form. It also can incorporate forms of ballet, modern and jazz. Contemporary is often used to convey a feeling or message, but in a highly individual way. For new dancers, this offers an opportunity to not feel like their ability and dance needs to match anyone else's. Beginner/Intermediate Improv DJANGO MASON, OHIA CLASSROOM
Improv was first used in the 60's and 70's as a response to the highly choreographed nature of classical dance. Improv in its simplest form is spontaneous movement. Dancers and non-dancers alike find this class to be inviting, fun, and a positive way to reinforce that there is no wrong movement in art. Students will explore various techniques in an age appropriate way, without the need for any formal dance training at all. This class is excellent for older kids who want to explore movement but have never had training. For trained dancers, this will be a chance to define their own artistry and movement qualities, elevating all of their performance capabilities. Min. 6; Max. 9. AGE 9+ | $60/MONTH
Our Men's Ballet class is an opportunity for those 13 and up to explore and learn the basics of ballet, with an eye toward future partnering, and enhancement of their strength, agility, flexibility, and previous athletic training. With experienced students, emphasis will be placed on grand allegro and pas de deux. This class, which will initially be male only, provides a high energy and safe environment for teens and men to explore ballet training with professional and expert guidance.
