London, Monday, June 9th, about 9 p.m.… Jean Frédéric Dufour, CEO of Zenith, is attending a dinner held in our London boutique in honor of the Manufacture that he presides. A handful of clients have come along to discover a preview of the latest models. One of them, a Russian living in the English capital, gets up to speak and begins to describe his first visits to Kronometry 1999. First in Paris, then London, as soon as it opened. Anecdotes and impressions follow in turn, then suddenly he delivers his conclusion : «Stepping inside a Kronometry 1999 store is a real experience…» And to support his statement, he mentions the choice, the service, the knowledge

RM 027 - Only Watch 2011 Le 22 septembre prochain se tiendra à Monaco la 4ème édition d’Only Watch, célèbre vente aux enchères organisée tous les 2 ans en marge du Monaco Yacht initiée par Luc Pettavino, Président de l’Association Monégasque contre les Myopathies, dont l’intégralité des bénéfices est reversée à la recherche contre la Myopathie de Duchenne. Pour cet événement caritatif qui propose aux collectionneurs des pièces uniques dotées des concepts horlogers les plus avancés, Richard Mille a choisi de faire don d’une pièce emblématique : la RM 027 tourbillon de Rafael Nadal que le célèbre joueur de tennis porte lors de tous ses matchs depuis 2010 et avec laquelle il a notamment gagné le tournoi de Monte Carlo 2011. C’est le Numéro 1 mondial en personne qui l’a symboliquement remise à Paul, le fils de Luc Pettavino, à la fin du tournoi en avril dernier. RM 027 - Only Watch 2011 On September 22nd, Monaco will host the 4th edition of Only Watch, a famous auction held every two years in the wings of the Monaco Yacht Show and initiated by Luc Pettavino, President of Monaco’s Muscular Dystrophy Association. All the funds collected are handed over for research into Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. For this charity event offering collectors unique pieces based on the most advanced concepts, Richard Mille has chosen to donate a signature piece : the Rafael Nadal RM 027 Tourbillon, worn by the illustrious tennisman in all his matches since 2010, and with which he won the Monte-Carlo tournament 2011. It was, in fact, the world’s N°1 player in person who symbolically handed the watch to Luc Pettavino’s son Paul at the end of the tournament in April. With a hand-wound tourbillon developed for and with Rafael Nadal, this RM 027 is the prototype used for the final testing phases, tests successfully passed, as the mechanism proved infallible in every match played and won by Rafael Nadal with the watch on his wrist. Weighing only 20 grams (including the strap), the RM 027 is considered one of the lightest watches on the market and a superb technical achievement.

This was the case in 2007 with the WX-1 Project, sold for 400,000 € from a simple synthesized computer image, something totally unprecedented ! UR-110 Black Torpedo En début d’année, Urwerk dévoilait sa nouvelle révolution en matière de lecture du temps avec la UR-110 que nous avions eu le plaisir de vous présenter dans une précédente K News. Face au succès qu’il a déjà rencontré, cet exceptionnel garde-temps au nom de code «Torpédo» (en référence aux trois têtes chercheuses qui voyagent groupées sur le cadran) est proposé dans une nouvelle version toute noire avec un boîtier doté d’une lunette en AlTiN (Aluminium Titane Nitride). Pour rappel, la UR-110 affiche l’heure face à la minute sur la section latérale droite du garde-temps. Le mobile suit un chemin vertical gradué de 0 à 60 minutes dans un mouvement descendant, permettant ainsi une lecture du temps élégante et discrète. En plus de l’heure, le cadran en métal affiche un « Control Board » avec indication jour/nuit, l’indicateur de service développé par Urwerk « Oil Change » et un compteur de 60 secondes. UR-110 Black Torpedo At the beginning of the year, Urwerk unveiled its new revolution for reading the time : the UR-110, which we had the pleasure of presenting to you in a previous K News. On the strength of the success it has already encountered, this exceptional timepiece code-named «Torpedo» (in reference to the three searching heads traveling as a group around the dial) is now proposed in a new all-black version with a case endowed with a bezel made of AlTiN (Aluminum Titanium Nitride). As a reminder, the UR-110 displays the hour opposite the minute on the righthand side of the timepiece. The mobile follows a vertical path scaled from 0 to 60 minutes in a descending direction, thus allowing you to check the time elegantly and discreetly. In addition to the time, the metal dial displays a «Control Board» with day/night indicator, the «Oil Change» servicing indicator developed by Urwerk and a 60 seconds counter.
