Intermittent Fasting ­ The Hidden Gem For Weight Loss So in case you are wondering what intermittent fasting is, let me explain. Intermittent fasting is when you give yourself a specific time frame that you can eat during the day. This time frame is normally an 8­hour eating window with a 16 hour fast(meaning you don’t eat). Example: You would eat all your calories for the day from 12:00 PM until 8:00 PM then you would fast for 16 hours until 12:00 PM the next day.

So why are we doing this again?

Firstly, your body upon waking up will be in the perfect fat burning state because you will be completely empty as there is no food left in your system and insulin levels will be very low. This is the perfect conditions for fat burning. Now if you push your first meal of the day until 12:00 PM or whatever works best for you, you will be burning fat the entire time. Another great benefit of intermittent fasting is that when you are in a completely fasted state, your sympathetic nervous system dominates. This will give you increased adrenaline, enhance mental performance and increase energy!

Won't I Starve?

It might take your body a couple of weeks to get used to skipping breakfast, but once it does fasting becomes so easy and effortless. You will feel fantastic! Fasting also gives you the ability to eat much larger satisfying meals while dieting, in my opinion, it makes dieting much easier and fulfilling.

Pro tip:

An excellent way to curb hunger is by drinking black coffee in the mornings. The caffeine helps control hunger and keep you mentally focused until your first meal. Make sure you drink black coffee because ​ anything over 50 calories will break your fast. In my opinion fasting is the most underutilized strategy for dropping fat off the waist. While I am making this an option for you to take on this weight loss program, I highly recommend you utilize it, as it makes the whole dieting process so much more enjoyable.
