Using Computers at School Computers are here to help you complete your work. Computers are to be used appropriately:
Not to play games or check personal e-mail. Not to search for material inappropriate to classroom use.
Failure to abide by the rules of the AUP will result in disciplinary actions, with a possible suspension of your account.

Do not do anything on a computer that you would not do if a teacher or your parents were standing behind you watching.

American businesses waste $54 billion each year due to personal use of company computers.
Plagiarism and Copying Plagiarism is the act of taking someone else’s ideas and passing them off as your own. Using cut and paste features allow one to plagiarize easily. If you quote from sources, make sure you cite those resources to give them proper credit.
Copyright Laws A copyright protects someone who creates an original work. Copyrights were created by the Copyright Act of 1976. When you create an original work, it is automatically protected by this law.
Be Responsible
Do not download files from the Internet without permission. These files are chief sources of viruses. Do not abuse e-mail.
Letters can be traced by the system administrator. Do not send large attachments. Keep the message appropriate! Do not send or forward chain letters. Avoid flaming.
