Rugby
Rugby is a team sport that originates from England. To the untrained eye rugby is a game where a number of large players struggle to move an oval ball from one part of the field towards the goal line of the opponents team. While this sport may appear rough its players maintain good sportsmanship by respecting each other and their opponents.
Rugby is a great sport to keep you fit and active, as well as learning new skills and making new friends. You play by passing backwards and placing the ball on the try line behind the goal posts. It involves tackling the ball-handler and the games vary as to the types. Such as touch, sevens or union (the most popular). With over 400 million viewers it is a very popular sport. There are loads of clubs in Essex if you want to start playing rugby such as Bancroft, Epping, Dagenham and more. Essex rugby is looking for more girls to start playing. So, give it a go you may just love it. There are posters put up around school for the Wanstead RFC club who are specifically looking for girls aged 7-17 to join. New players are welcome!
