@humsrvhs

We are extremely proud of our students, for their hard work, gritted determination and resilience over the last year, it’s not been an easy time for lots of people and that makes student effort, achievement and progress all the more special and important. Well done to each of you and in particular to those who have really struggled and kept going. We hope that you have a well deserved and restful summer break. *** The Humanities Faculty

I would also like to take the opportunity to thank and recognise the hard work, persistence, fresh ideas, good humour and sheer brilliance of the Humanities Staff - they truly are an amazing team and great role models for our students! Tara Preston

RS / Philosophy and Ethics St Albans is not only a stunning example of British architecture, but also one of the oldest cathedrals in the UK. The oldest parts of the building date back as far as 1089 AD and are linked to the beginnings of Christianity in the UK. Saint Alban himself was believed to be a Roman citizen who rescued a fleeing Christian priest from the authorities. When soldiers came to claim the priest, Alban gave himself up instead and was executed on a nearby hillside.

Well done RVHS students for working hard in RS this year! Take some time to rest ...

Out and about this summer? Why not take a look at these religious places?

Stonehenge. Although archaeologists still don’t really know what the site was built for, to this day, it has a religious significance deeply associated with the long-lost druids and is still the site of solstice celebrations every year.
