Welcome Good day to all you lovely lovely Maths students. I am sure you are all missing school and cannot wait to be back. The truth is your teachers cannot wait to have you back either, we all miss the fun and routine of school as much as you do. Maybe we could all do without Friday period 6 though – what do you think? As Charles de Gaulle once said, "Faced with crisis, the man of character falls back on himself. He imposes his own stamp of action, takes responsibility for it, makes it his own." And it applies just as equally for young girls too. I am absolutely thrilled with how many of you have developed a set routine and taken this pandemic as an opportunity to develop your independent learning skills. These skills will serve you well in your academic lives in the future. For those few who are struggling where to start, or struggling getting a routine in place, please do not give up. Chess Corner Today Mr Dennis’s chess club brings a puzzle to get you thinking about counter attacks. White has made a move which attacks Black’s Rook on F8. Rather than move the Rook to safety how could you exploit this situation and punish White for not thinking ahead? First person to send the correct move that Black should do to Mr Dennis by email (mdennis@rodingvalley.net) will score 5 House Points for their House and have their name appear in next week’s bulletin.
