18 Blackfriars road Residential tower and hotel TYPE DATE LOCATION DESIGN

Commission July 2015 London, UK PLP Architecture

Proposal Blackfriars is an upcoming area in central London. The block, owned by a Malaysian firm specialising in hotels and residencies, is part of the zone, where high rise development is encouraged, creating a new centrality in the city. The scheme engages the vision of the municipality with a 44-story high residential building, a hotel volume and commercial activities on the ground floor activating the piazza spread at the east side. The tower design, consisting of 3 overlapping petals, aims to effect as little as possible London’s skyline and important city views. Horizontal ribbons wrapping the whole building keep the tower visually grounded while the facade treatment makes the building lighter as we go up in levels.

Design principles

Long, East/West Facade

1 x Petal facade

3 volumes break down of the long facade, creating articulations in massing

3 x Petal facade

Axel-Springer Campus Phase 2 TYPE DATE LOCATION DESIGN

Competition December 2013 Berlin, Germany SANAA

Proposal The new office building aims to bring a connection between the campus of AxelSpringer and its surroundings. The low rise volume of the company offers a continuous flow from the city to the upper floors creating a plaza that refers in the same time to the employees and the residents of the area. In the same time the building is composed by a new pattern of offices promoting flexibility and innovative business structures.

Curatorial Statement The building PLANTA, which will find its home within a quarry, in Lleida, Spain, exist in an environment of constant flux. The exhibition PLANTA resides in a similarly complex environment: Musica Benedetto Marcello di Venezia. The Quarry and the Conservatorio are environments layered in both physical & cultural texture, and like the Quarry, the Conservatorio demands full engagement of our secondary senses; most importantly each site is dedicated to the concept of performance.

City Hall Park S達o Bernardo do Campo TYPE DATE LOCATION DESIGN

Commission March 2014 S達o Paulo, Brazil KAAN Architecten and DOMAIN

Proposal City Hall Park occupies a position strategic significance in the metropolitan region of S達o Paulo. The planned intensification of mobility throughout the site inevitably renders its emergence as the new centre for S達o Bernardo do Campo. The design organizes the site into a series of archipelagos dedicated to leisure and performance, each island is reinforced with an icon dedicated to performance. The icons form a continuity of irregularity, each with unique spaces and functions, and varying in typology, density, and landscapes.

Proposal Yongsan will be a city of neighbourhoods. A city where everyone of any age can find a place to live and be part of an ongoing local process. Our most important strategy was to identify the existing neighbourhoods with its street pattern and densify the site by adding neighbourhoods and using a specific street structure.

Urban music park Regeneration of the old port in the city of Patrai TYPE DATE LOCATION STUDENTS TUTOR

Thesis November 2011 Patrai, Greece K.Salonikidi, M.Stamati E.Constantopoulos

Proposal A musical front, a city park transforms the space between the city and the sea, into an autonomous urban zone. The former port of the city is now an urban music park. It constitutes a series of frames, one after the other, hosting activities, triggering actions, creating urban scenes. Music piers, routes, and thematic gardens seem to compose a collage of movements and uses of space.
