Enjoy Color Season After Season with Encore Azaleas!

Encore® Azalea is the best azalea you’ll ever plant. If you love spring-blooming azaleas, you can enjoy this explosion of color season after season with Encore Azaleas. Encore Azaleas are the world’s best-selling reblooming azalea with rich, colorful blooms in spring, summer and fall. Each of the Encore Azalea varieties begins their performance with the spring flowering season. Once this “first act” of blooming concludes, new shoots begin to grow and set buds. The Encore Azalea’s “second act” opens when these buds begin blooming. This unique bloom season continues through fall, the curtain dropping with the onset of cold weather. Encore Azaleas have 29 varieties of bloom colors and sizes to choose from and are unlike any other azalea in the world, performing equally well in sunny locations or partial shade. Plant them in your garden and enjoy sustainable color season after season.

Will Encore Azaleas Grow In My Area? Key Zone 10 Zone 9 Zone 8 Zone 7 Zone 6 Zone 5 & Below

Encore Azaleas grow well in USDA zones 7-9, with many varieties experiencing success in zones 6-10 as well. View the shaded blue areas found in each plant description to find Encore Azaleas for zone 6. Visit EncoreAzalea.com to find your zone. EncoreAzalea.com

Planting Your Encore Azaleas Sun Exposure: Encore Azaleas prefer a sunny location that can provide a minimum of four to six hours of sunlight a day. They also perform well in high filtered shade as long as they receive adequate sunlight. Encore Azaleas will grow in heavier shade locations, however this may decrease the amount of blooms and the azalea may grow more slowly. Spacing: Encore Azaleas should be planted the same width apart as the mature dimensions specify. This measurement should be taken from the center of one plant to the center of the other. For example: Autumn Angel’s mature dimensions are 3 feet wide. In order to have mature Autumn Angel plants bunched next to each other, you should plant them 3 feet apart, starting at the center of one plant and measuring to the center of the other. If you would like space between your azaleas, you should separate them by more than the mature width dimensions.

Remember to space your Encores for mature growth sizes.

EncoreÂŽ Azaleas are the most sun tolerant azaleas on the market.

Planting Your Encore Azaleas Ground Preparation:

Encore Azaleas, like all azaleas, are acid-loving plants and thrive in well drained acidic soil. Optimal pH levels in the soil should be between 5.5 and 6.5. A raised bed is often helpful in areas where well-drained acidic soil is less available. Planting: Turn the soil well and dig a hole twice as wide as it is deep. Mix some organic compost or peat moss with the soil. (This is especially important if you have sandy or heavy clay soil.) Remove your EncoreŽ Azalea from its container and carefully but firmly loosen the root ball. Set the plant into the hole you’ve prepared, making sure the top of the root ball is above the soil level. Pull your soil around the plant, water thoroughly and cover with mulch.

Caring For Your Encore Azaleas Spring & Summer Planting Care:

Water your Encore® Azalea well when you first plant it and keep the soil moist until winter. New azaleas will die quickly if the soil dries excessively. Your new Encore Azalea should not need regular watering after the first year unless there are periods of excessive drought. Fertilize with the recommended levels of azalea feed soon after planting. Do not fertilize after August. Fall & Winter Planting Care: Encore Azaleas also do well when they are planted at this time. New roots produced in the fall will help the azalea flourish in spring. Although less watering is necessary, do not allow the roots to become dry. Cover your young azalea when extreme cold weather approaches. As your Encore® Azalea matures, it will need less winter care. Do not fertilize until after the last frost. When you do fertilize, use azalea feed as directed. Pruning: Encore Azaleas require very little pruning to retain good form and do not need “dead-heading.” If you think your Encore® Azalea needs pruning, do so immediately after the spring flowering for maximum bud set. Light pruning of more established plants will stimulate growth and flowering. To Find the Nearest Retailer Visit EncoreAzalea.com
