EXERCISE: TO DESIGN A PART OF CENTRAL DELHI (2.5 SQ. Km.. APPROX.), AS A SUSTAINABLE URBAN UNIT, WHICH SHALL BE ABLE TO SUSTAIN THE PROJECTIONS FOR THE POPULATION, ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS AND ENERGY CONSUMPTION IN YEAR 2035. CONCEPT:
THE VISION IS A VERY ENVIRONMENTALLY SYMPATHETIC FUTURE FOR THE CITY, AS OPPOSED TO THE SCIENCE FICTION ARCHITECTURE. THE REGION IS DESIGNED AS A REPLICABLE UNIT, WITH GREENS FLOWING THROUGH IT, AS AN EXTENSION TO THE CITY RIDGE, INTO THE MAIN CITY. THESE GREENS, ORIENTED PERPENDICULAR TO THE CITY RIVER, WORK LIKE A COURTYARD IN A VERNACULAR INDIAN HOUSE. THE ARTERIAL ROADS ARE BUILT ON THREE LEVELS WITH LOCAL TRAIN RUNNING UNDERGROUND, AND PARKING FOR GREEN-FUEL VEHICLES ON THE GROUND FLOOR, WHICH CAN BE USED TO MANEUVER THROUGH THE CITY.
