Carver Afterschool Program

Ages 6-18 The afterschool program is designed to help kids in all areas of subject in school. The first 80 kids to register will receive a FREE T–shirt for the Carver After School program. Carver Recreation Center Mon-Fri 4pm-7pm $50/per child per year On Track Homework Helpers

Ages 6-18 The program is designed for grades K-12 and features supervised homework assistance with Robert McKinney and ETSU Students, tutoring is offered in all subjects as well as special projects assistance as needed. Carver Recreation Center Mon-Thur 3pm-5:30pm Free Computer Lab

Ages 6-18 Computer Lab is open for students to get information from the internet to assist with homework or projects. Games and other activities are also offered under supervision. Kindergarten Discover My Plate includes six lessons that integrate nutrition education into Math, Science, English Language Arts, and Health. You can meet core education standards through these ready-to-go and interactive lessons that help children become foodsmart as they practice counting, reading, writing, and more. These lessons are designed to help change eating and physical activity behaviors through role-playing, observational learning, positive tasting experiences, and skill-building. 4th & 5th grade Adventures in the Kitchen teaches skills for life. Through Adventures in the Kitchen, children learn important life skills such as cooking, choosing healthy foods, and engaging in regular physical activity. 3rd Grade The raccoon is the Tennessee state animal. Rudy the Raccoon loves to eat and feasts on everything he can get his paws on! That means sometimes Rudy eats things he shouldn’t—just like many people do. Join the adventure of Rudy as he decides to make better food choices and become more active in Making Tracks with Rudy Raccoon! Ages 6-12 Our goal is to provide an exciting, safe and healthy environment that fosters growth and development. This program helps cultivate a fun and engaging experience for all children! Students remain at the community center and participate in fun filled activities! Our club is for children in Kindergarten through 6th grade (age 12). Minimum of five people must register. Ages 6-12 Kids will get a chance to learn about the body, developing healthy nutritional habits, and even personal hygiene. They will meet students from the ETSU Quillen College of Medicine who will have various body parts on display for kids to view & ask questions. Grades 3rd-8th The Afterschool Institute incorporates three types of educational approaches: experiential, multicultural, and Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) education.
