The Year in Review: How to Create Interactive videos with students This is the time of year that we see lots of retrospective videos. Last week YouTube released their year-in-review video (YouTube Rewind 2015. Celebrating the videos, people, music and moves that made 2015. #YouTubeRewind) and before too long we’ll see plenty of more year-in-review videos from news outlets. Your students can create their own year-in-review videos by using Wideo. Wideo enables anyone to create animated videos and or slideshow style videos. If you choose to use the slideshow style, you can insert hyperlinks into each slide to make the video interactive. Richard Byrne provides a YouTube video to demonstrate how to create an interactive video on Wideo. Provided by http://www.freetech4teachers.com/

PERISCOPE Named App of the Year What is Periscope you ask? The Periscope app (originally an Apple product but now a Google Play product as well)lets you broadcast live video to the world. Going live will instantly notify your followers, who can join, comment and send you feedback in real time. Twitter purchased the app earlier this year, therefore, you can choose to share your Periscope broadcasts by tapping the bird icon before you start broadcasting.

Well Said... A library is a house of hope. It’s a place where we all, whatever our situation, can feed our ideas and develop our dreams. ~ Doug Wilhelm

When you go live, you’ll tweet a link so that your Twitter followers can watch on the web (or in the app). Want to know more, check out the Cybraryman.com page. There you will find ideas on how to use it, what you should know about it, and classroom integration suggestions.

Feedback Tool for Google Docs: JoeZoo Express Marking papers takes a lot of time for teachers and the bulk of that time is spent on misspelled words and improper punctuation. JoeZoo Express is an Addon for Google Docs (found in the Chrome store) that helps teachers to significantly reduce the time spent on assessing grammar, mechanics, and formatting so that they can focus more on content and idea development.
