A note from Bill Thank you all for all that you've done this year for the students of Parkway. As I look back at the past year, I find it amazing that we've done so much and I'm excited about where we're headed with the library program. Crop, Rotate and Add Borders in Google Docs Google Slides has had the op on to crop, rotate, and add borders from awhile, but now Google Drive has added the same tools to Google Docs. So, now the basic edi ng of images in your Google Drive exists and you no longer need to involve some other 3rd‐party applica on or website. The video from edi ng images in Google Slides and Drawings explains the same features now found in Docs. h ps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RT2SRlLwDE Along with the ability to crop images into slightly smaller versions of themselves, you can also crop them into specific shapes, like stars, arrows and circles. Pairing this with the ability to add a custom border to your images definitely gives you a lot more flexibility in Google Docs. h

The Everyday Advocacy effort contains resources to support the incredible things you do. The free online drawing app remember each line you paint so that you can share the step‐by‐step replays. No sign up is required. The app is available in Google Chrome. h p://sketchtoy.com/ A Cleaner Internet The Chrome, Firefox, or Safari extension clears out the related videos, comments, and other sidebar content while you’re viewing a YouTube video. Student Opportunities There are some great camps being offered by Parkway this summer. Students have the opportunity to par cipate in Google Camp (Grades 3‐12), Camp Inven on (Grades 1‐6), and Cracking the Code (Grades 3‐8). Camera Uploads
Thinking about u lizing space for next year and ordered some new magazine holders that display the content beau fully and organize earlier issues. This will be part of the newsstand nook area. The magazine storage solu on takes the periodicals out of hiding and puts them where students can be er access them. These were ordered from Demco h p://www.demco.com/goto?magbox2. Prices vary depending on size and style, but they are around $25 each. Work on Fern’s library space con nues. Back ligh ng has been added to the middle level book shelves with hopes to finish the bo om shelves. One wall will be devoted to contempla on and collabora on by covering it en rely with dry erase boards. Two boards are up with two more to go. Mounted between those boards will be a media literacy screen.
