November 23, 2013 Dear Guests and Friends: th

Welcome to the 35 Annual Fantasy Faire Dinner Auction! It is with great pleasure and honor that I welcome each of you for an evening of socializing with friends and family, food and, of course, bidding on a host of fantastic items which will provide support for our students. All of you are part of a very strong community of Christian leaders in the St. Louis area that are blessed and bound together by a common interest in Nurturing Christian Hearts and Building Strong Minds. Your attendance, your donations to the Auction, and your purchases provide the necessary support for our educational programs at both Lutheran North and Lutheran South. In addition, Fund a Future allows you to contribute directly to our financial assistance program, which is crucial for our families in these difficult economic times. Area Thrivent chapters will match a portion of Fund a Future gifts, which makes those gifts go even further. Our annual auction would not be possible without the commitment, dedication, and hard work of our Auction Chairs. These individuals have put in an enormous amount of time and energy to provide for this wonderful event. Debbie and Greg Meyer, parents of current Lutheran South students, and their committee have worked for months to make this event so special. I would like to acknowledge and thank all those individuals, including the volunteers and our students, who have worked to create a very delightful setting here at the Sheraton Chalet Westport. Thank you for all that you do to support our students. God’s Richest Blessings,

Tim Hipenbecker President

November 23, 2013

Dear Friends of the Association:

The Board of Trustees of the Lutheran High School Association extends a warm welcome and many thanks for your support of the 35th Annual Fantasy Faire Auction for Lutheran North and Lutheran South. Enjoy the evening of fun and fellowship!

Each year the Fantasy Faire Auction raises funds that directly benefit the students at both of our schools. As we continue to work to set apart the Lutheran secondary educational experience from the rest by “Building Strong Minds” and “Nurturing Christian Hearts”, we especially want to thank the 2013 Auction Chairs, Debbie and Greg Meyer. We’d also like to say thank you to all those volunteers who have worked so hard to make this event a continuing success.

I encourage you to bid high as we hope to raise over $100,000 for our schools. Tonight you will once again have the opportunity to directly support a student’s education by contributing to Fund A Future that provides financial assistance to students who are in need.

We would like to thank you, our many friends and supporters, who give of yourselves in so many ways to promote Lutheran Christian education in St. Louis. God bids us to encourage the children to come to Him. This evening, we hope you will do some bidding of your own in support of this important ministry.

Thank you for all you do for Lutheran High School North and Lutheran High School South.

Yours in Christ,

Dale Kreienkamp LHSA Board Chairman

General Rules for All Bidders 1. The item for which you have been the successful bidder is donated. There will be absolutely no exchanges or refunds unless specifically stated. 2. There will be NO split bidding. Bid sheets must come to the computer area with only 1 winning bidder and amount. 3. Winning bidders of condominiums, golfing engagements, etc. must contact the donor as designated by special instruction within the time frame noted. 4. Failure, for whatever cause, to arrange for the trip, meal, party, etc. within the time limit and according to the specified conditions and/or limitations imposes absolutely no obligation on the donor or the LHSA Auction for a refund. 5. Sale to another party by the wining bidder imposes no obligation on either donor or the LHSA Auction. 6. All items of this auction are sold as is with no express or implied guarantees or warranties, except those that may be supplied by the donor or manufacturer. 7. Winning bidders are solely responsible for removal of items from auction premises. Items not removed Saturday evening must be removed between 10:00 am and 11:30 am Sunday, November 24, 2013. 8. Should you elect to check out at the BANK AREA before all areas of the Auction close, and in turn, should you be the successful bidder on an item, you will be notified within seven days. You will be held responsible for payment and pick-up of these items. You may pay with MasterCard, VISA, Discover, or American Express. 9. All certificates must be redeemed within one year of the Auction unless otherwise specified. The Auction Committee suggests that you contact the donor by December 15, 2013 to confirm your purchase.

Auction officials have the authority to void the bid of anyone “blocking” the bid sheets on any auction. Do not go to the Check Out area until it opens at 9:30 p.m. The committee has been meticulous in trying to avoid errors in acknowledging gifts and volunteers, especially in trying to avoid omitting or misspelling names. The name of every donor and volunteer is very important to the Lutheran High School Association of St. Louis. If we have erred, please be understanding, but please notify us so that it can be corrected in the future. The Association’s good-faith estimate of the value of the dinner furnished to the donor is $95.00 per person. The taxpayer’s deductible contribution for items purchased is limited to the amount paid in excess of the value stated for the item in the auction booklet (as required by the Internal Revenue Service).

Time Auction Instructions Timed bidding will take place during dinner. Four items will be listed on the projection screens in the front of the ballroom with:

Item #, Item Title, Current Bidder, Current Bid If you wish to bid on an item, write the Item Number, your Bid Number and your bid on the bid sheets provided on your table. Then hold up the bid sheet. A runner will pick up your bid sheet and take it to the Timed Auction computer table for recording. The highest bid for each item will be displayed on the screen at various times. You will have eight (8) minutes for each screen of items. You may submit as many bids as you like during the eight (8) minutes, but the highest bidder, with their bid on the computer table at the end of the time, is the winner.

Bids that are en-route when the bell sounds are invalid! Winning bids for each item will be posted and the winning bidder will be given a sales receipt for the item.
