Located on Cleveland’s East side, a new boulevard referred to as the “Opportunity Corridor” will connect I-490 to University Circle. This project will transverse through many neighborhoods that have undoubtedly experienced more thriving times. This particular site is located along a section of the Corridor that is physically disconnected from its surroundings due to previous land use, and two rail lines piercing through the site. Bordered by the neighborhoods of Buckeye, Kinsman, Fairfax, and University, this area is prone to elevated crime levels, lower income levels, and low graduation rates. Many of the people living here are a part of an area in which Clevelanders refer to as “forgotten.”
The goal of the project is to leverage this new corridor as an opportunity to change the narrative and reintegrate the area economically, environmentally, and socially into a thriving neighborhood once again. Utilizing nearby anchors such as the Juvenile Justice Center and the RTA service center,
