JONAS DAHLBERG: AN IMAGINED CITY Konstverket An Imagined City bygger på ett arkiv av människors minnen av platser och rum ur filmer. Verket leder in i en imaginär arkitektur genom de rumsliga bilder som vi alla bär inom oss. Tolv ultraljudshögtalare är gömda i entréfoajéns innertak. De riktar ljudet så att det bara hörs när du står under dem. Från varje högtalare hörs en röst som beskriver minnen av miljöer ur filmer, och sammanlagt återberättar nio olika röster mer än fem hundra sådana minnen.
An Imagined City is an artwork based on an archive of people’s memories of rooms, places and buildings from films. The work guides you into an imaginary architecture, through the rich store of spatial images that we all carry within us. Twelve ultrasound speakers are concealed in the ceiling of the entrance foyer. They direct the sound so that it can only be heard if you stand immediately under them. From each of the speakers a voice describes memories of spaces in movies, one by one. In total, nine voices recount more than five hundred such recorded memories.
