KTM X-BOW CUP POWERED BY MICHELIN
FOREWORD
R
ight from the beginning of the KTM X-BOW GT4 project, which we jointly developed with our partner Reiter Engineering, we emphasized that this was all about providing a real customer motorsports vehicle. Now we can offer those teams who have acquired the car a further attractive activity. With the registration of a Cup Competition as part of the VLN, it is now possible to deploy the KTM X-BOW GT4 in practically all of Europe’s prestigious racing series. Also, the regulations have been shaped to ensure that it is not necessary to engage in any costly reconstruction and owners do not need to purchase additional performance packages. Here I would like to emphasize that for KTM it is both a big honor and a thrill to also be present on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Here, I want to extend our thanks to all those responsible at VLN and DMSB, Reiter Engineering and Michelin, who have supported this engagement.”

THE VLN T
he VLN (“Veranstaltergemeinschaft Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring” – Event Community of the Nürburgring Endurance Championship) is a broad-based racing series held on the Nürburgring Nordschleife since 1977. Both amateur and professional drivers compete together in different classes in vehicles ranging from series models and touring cars to pure prototype racing cars. The races are from between four and six hours and take place on the Nordschleife, which, when combined with the sprint section of the Grand Prix circuit, covers a lap distance of 24.433 kilometers. The race program is very compact. There is a possibility of at least one free training session on Friday, and qualifying and races follow on Saturday.»

THE KTM X-BOW GT4 T
he latest KTM X-BOW, developed together with German motorsports specialist Reiter Engineering is GT4 homologated and has safety features drawn from Formula and Touring Car racing. This makes it a perfect model for international motor racing. On the one hand, it offers a high-tech carbon fiber monocoque, on the other, it is also a closed vehicle with a certified steel roll cage. Because of the use of the latest technology, the KTM X-BOW GT4 is extremely light and high in performance. The power comes from its 2.0 TFSI Audi engine with up to 360 hp. This power is further delivered by the Holinger sequential six-gear transmission, which is operated via paddles on the (removable) steering wheel. The car won the amateur class for medium-sized sports cars in the GT4 European Series in its premier season, and picked up countless other victories and titles. Among these was one in the GTS class of the PWC in the USA. Despite its fantastic performance, the vehicle remains extremely cost effective regarding both initial price and maintenance costs. When it comes to endurance racing, the KTM X-BOW GT4 is extremely light on brakes, tires, and fuel thanks to its low weight, and optimal weight distribution.Âť
