Oklahoma City, OK -Participated in various phases of architectural design proj ects. Worked with project teams to come up with designs for signage packages, site drainage issues, landscaping, and interior finishes. Produced design presentations and picked up red lines on Construction Documents. Gained significant experience working on a residential townhome and condo project along with a commercial office project apart of a multi phase urban development project.
Oklahoma City, OK -Mercy Hospital Renovation: Developed conceptual floor plan revisions for the renovation of Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. Studying what the layout for each new room should be.
Awards/Activities Design Build Studio Project
Spring 2019 -Worked in all phases of a design-build studio project, from conceptual design through construction. Worked with a $0 budget using nearly 100% recycled materials to build a shade structure for the community of East Lawrence, KS. Went through the builidng permit process, producing and submitting construction documents to The City of Lawrence. Worked closely with community sponsors and the people in the community, soliciting feedback at different neighborhood events.
AIA Small Projects Design Award
September 2019 -The design build project that I was apart of recieved an AIA Small Projects award. This project is a shade structure made from 100% recycled materials.
Architecture Master Prize
September 2019 -The same project also recieved a global design award for green architecture in the small projects category.
Symposia Presentation
April 27, 2019 -Poster/Paper Presentation (Museum of Sustainable Urbanism), KU Undergraduate Research Symposium
Dallas Pritzker Laureate Architecture Study Tour September 2018 -Architecture Study Tour where we spent time and touring Pritzker prize winning architect’s buildings. Some of these include Tadao Ando, Rem Koolhaus, Thom Mayne, and Norman Foster.
THE PLAY HILL This project was to design a 24 hour childcare center in a small community called Lakin, Kansas with an exploration center for childrens educational programs as well. My design was to turn the roof into a sledding and biking hill for the community as well as the children attending the childcare facilities to use. Further developing the idea I needed something to create a boundary for the sides of each ramp and sunshading for the interior of the building so I designed a system of louvers with a unique, fun geometry for the children to draw inspiration from. The overall form of this design draws directly from the function of using the building as a community “play hill.

THE MUSEUM OF SUSTAINA The Museum of Sustainable Urbanism seeks to be a great example of developing the urban ecosystem in a thoughtful way. The site selected for the museum is the unused space over a highway in Dallas, TX, to make a statement on sustainable urbanism in mitigating problems of highway designs in terms of maintaining high building density, maximum use of land, and reducing air and noise pollution. The journey through the museum starts on the first floor that acts as an extension of the park across the street. The whole ground floor is devoted to catering to the public and giving people something to participate in through the café and a series of three atrium spaces used as public display cases. As one moves through the museum, they come to gallery floors that revolve around the same atria that now house a set of vertical stacked garden spaces to give the public a strong connection to nature in the vastly urban environment. Moving to the top two floors of the building, the same atria are used as a classroom, a conference room as well as a garden space for the administrative staff to experience nature. The focus of the museum is the atrium spaces that serve several different functions as you move throughout the building. They aim to be mixed-use, dense, and connected to nature in order to drive home the point of developing urban environments in a thoughtful, sustainable manner, thinking about the pedestrian in a deeper way. The whole building is supported by a steel diagrid exoskeleton structure.

THE KANZA PAVILION The goal of Prairie Block, which the Kanza Pavilion was the first phase of, is to restore one city block of native riparian wetland prairie along Burroughs Creek that feeds in the Kaw River as a demonstration of how green infrastructure can help control flooding, erosion, and pollution of the Kaw Valley watershed. The Project will further educate and inspire the public and elected oďŹƒcials about green infrastructure and urban prairies via an eco-art and shade structure installation that includes trails and pedestrian access to the waters edge. Finally Prairie Block will be used by Parks and Rec. for training and maintenance crews on how to successfully manage urban prairie restorations. The upland shade structure was inspired by the local culture and character of East Lawrence. Derived from kanza earth lodges and native teepee structures, we worked through iterations that celebrate these cultures, while maintaining a unique identity for the neighborhood. The materials are entirely donated and recycled: (1) retired power poles are tapered and arranged to maximize solar shading; (2) recycled steel angle from truss towers become struts and mounting shelves; (3) recycled street signs become shingles to clad the shade structure and express a mural of prairie landscape.
THE 8TH ST. 132 This is a mixed income urban housing project located in Kansas City, Kansas, very near the downtown area. The driveing factor of my design for this project is a pedestrian corridor and bike path that is integrated into existing city bike paths. This corridor creates space for farmers market or pop up shops to use and also commercial spaces such as a bar and restaurant.

CREATIVE WORK What caused me to be interested in architecture as a career path was that I have always been intrgued by the dierent processes of creating things. For most of my early life I have explored creating through visual artwork. The first two pieces are collages inspired by the work of Antoine Predock who used collage work in presenting his architectural design project and as a large part of his design process. The remaining works are unrelated.
